Target Gift Card Scam

We were contacted about price reduction with Target gift card scam. We didn't provide any information or furnish a gift card but our bill shows it was just paid. Has our account been compromised? We use two step verification, no notification for two step was sent to my phone prior to payment posted text message.  We just changed our account password and removed our credit card info. Anything else we need to do?

Hello @user_221141, thanks for reaching out for help on our forums! You've reached the right team of experts, and we can certainly assist with answering questions about your account.

Do you have autopay set up on your account?

You can check this by following the instructions here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/setting-up-auto-payments

If you're autopay settings are enabled then it does not require logging in to process a payment.

@XfinityNico Should we pay the current amount due and request a refund back to the bank of whoever paid our bill?

@user_221141

Have you gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill?  If so, the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!
