Scripps dispute

Are you offering and free or reduced subscription offers for Hulu and Disney+ because of the scripps blackout? This is very upsetting for us.

I pay almost $300 per month for internet and cable so I can get local stations like this.  This is ridiculous.  I'm going to start shopping for alternatives.

We too pay almost $300 a month (with the recent $20 added to our bill in the last couple of months).  That is to cover the Scripps channels as well as the other offerings in the bundle for which we are paying.  You had no issues with raising the rates recently but now dispute another entity raising theirs and we as the customers are the ones who pay by not having access to what was part of the deal.  So since you are not paying for Scripps at this point, do we get a refund?

Hello @user_uvno6u and thank you for expressing your concerns on our Xfinity Community forums. 😀

While we make every effort to avoid making changes to available program, many channels are owned by third party providers to whom we do, as you pointed out, pay a fee.

Programming is subject to change based on our access to provide them and their availability as per our terms of service, and we do make every effort to notify you of such changes via our website at https://www.xfinity.com/programmingchanges.

Xfinity has successfully managed to negotiate thousands of agreements for adding and retaining channels, and as long as the channel owners are willing to provide us with a fair price, terms and conditions for our customers we will continue to do so.

While we are unable to offer compensation for the loss of individual channels due to expiring contract agreements with their owners, we can provide you with the option of reviewing available programming packages that may help to lower you bill if you would like.

I am NOT happy about the loss of ABC and it's related affiliates.  We have been customers for over 25 years. I will explore other options for TV, internet and phones if this is not resolved quickly. And you should  be giving us all a rebate for loss of a major network. Ridiculous

Thanks for your feedback, @kbklbk. This is a difficult situation, and we understand that it is frustrating. There are no current plans for a rebate or credit, but we’ll be sure to share any updates as they become available.

I am more interested in getting back ABC asap! What's the chance this is going to happen soon?  Otherwise I'm looking to cut the cord.

@kbklbk, I would not be able to speculate on what the result of the ongoing negotiations would be or how long they may take, I'm afraid. We hope that you would continue service in the interim and beyond.

This is ridiculous. If Xfinity no longer has a contract with Scripps, then we should get a rebate for loss of service. It’s time to start shopping around. We have been loyal customers for many years, but this has gone too far with no communication on a resolution.

Hello @user_528296, thank you for your comment. We understand how inconvenient this situation has been, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration it may have caused. At this time, a credit or discount is not being applied. If a new agreement with E. W. Scripps, the owner of these broadcast stations, is not reached, we will review and evaluate any potential impact on current or future charges. We’ll be sure to share updates as more information becomes available.

I’m giving Comcast a few days to figure this out then I am dropping them. I will soon have a fiber option from a non-Xfinity source. I am tired of paying them so much for service that gets worse and worse. This is not some random weird channel im

missing… it is my ABC affiliate.

So we are being told that we can pay the same monthly fee, but receive much less channels —than are being directed to pay additional fees for separate programming channels just to have something to watch.

Tried calling and speaking with a CSR who repeatedly advised that I purchase an upgraded package to receive the lost programming — while all notices state there is no Scripps service.  So no training for agents either.
Who is in charge of running (or destroying) the company now.

When will the Scripps contract dispute be resolved?  It is ridiculous that we have no access to NBC network programing in our local market in West Palm Beach for the past five days. Xfinity needs to do better !
