Phishing Scam Suspicious Calls and Texts

I am receiving multiple calls a day from what appears to be a legitimate Xfinity number (888 266 2278), but they never leave me a voicemail. I also receive multiple text messages a day from a 266278 number:

Example one - Your Xfinity account has a past due balance. Please pay your balance now to avoid your account being placed with a collection agency. Make a payment at https://payments.xfinity.com/new

Example two - Hi, Xfinity here. Return disconnected equipment today to reduce your monthly bill & protect the environment. https://xfinity.com/returns Txt help or stop
Msg&DataRatesMayApply

I have checked my account multiple times and I do not have a past due balance nor do I have any equipment to return (I have one piece of equipment that I currently use). I can't just block these numbers because they appear to be legitimate. Is there anything I can do to stop this nuisance? Thank you for your help.

We appreciate you meeting us here in our community about the calls and texts, @user_bhqeqk. The number is correct, so please don't block us. Did you recently move or activate a new account? You're welcome to see what accounts are associated with your Xfinity ID, and unlink any unwanted accounts here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/switching-between-multiple-accounts?linkId=119072615. Let us know what you find after.

@XfinityLinda No, I only have one account linked and I have not moved recently. My account is on auto pay, and it does not show that I have any overdue balance. I also only have one piece of equipment in my possession that I am currently using. A couple years ago I was told I should upgrade my TV box, but they never sent me a new upgraded box. Could this be the issue? That was a long time ago, though.

I'm getting these call too. First it was a text about an overdue balance. I deleted that text because the verbiage was completely different from Xfinity's standard computer generated text messages and the link definitely wasn't the link for remittance of payment. The next day I received two calls supposedly from Xfinity. Xfinity has never called my cell phone 😆 unless my router is down and I can't use my house phone. They also don't call about overdue bills and haven't done so in 15 years! These are obvious phishing scams and Xfinity needs to look into this IMMEDIATELY  before people start getting ripped off and bank accounts pilfered! If people get these calls, DO NOT say "Yes" because they record you saying that so they can steaĺ/change banking information and DO NOT click that link! Call Xfinity directly!
