Not honoring agreement

Account number: [Edit: removed Personal information]
I received several e-mails offering a $30 per month 400 Mbps Wi-Fi plan.  The last e-mail was on September 9, 2025.  I went to the X-finity store in Boca Raton, FL, on September 10.  The representative would not honor the offer, even though the e-mail offer was sent only one day earlier.

He offered me a $40 per month rate, but with a free Samong phone and me free year of service.  I accepted, but I was told that I needed to come back to port my cell phone number.

I returned to the store on September 12.  The representative would not honor the free cell phone and one-year service deal that was offered two days earlier.  He stated that the cell phone plan would be $10 per month, billed in addition to the $40 Wi-Fi plan.

I ask that you honor the offer we discussed on the September 10, and give me the phone and free service for one year.

In fact when I log on to my X-finity account, I see this:

Don’t forget, your internet plan includes an Unlimited mobile line for 1 year

Claim your line

This is not the first time X-finity employers have been dishonest with me.
Please honor the September 10-agreement.
Thank you.

user_30izkx Thank you for stopping in for help with your Xfinity mobile free line offer. There are a few free line offers we have currently, most are with the Xfinity mobile Unlimited plan. You can always pick the Xfinity mobile Premium Unlimited plan that is $10.00 more, and you would just pay the difference. If your internet services are $40.00, and the mobile line is only an additional $10.00, it may just be on the wrong level of service, and all you would need to do is change that to have the line completely free if you have already placed your order. If not, you can click the claim your line link you provided to place the order on your own. You have 90 days from when your new promotion stated to claim your free line.

We can also help get the order placed for you, but the link will take you right where you need to be and should only take a few moments to complete your order.

I do not want a $50-plan.  I was offered a $40-plan with free cell service and free phone.  Then, I drove back to the store and the offer was not honored after I already had activated the Wi-Fi.

This is dishonest business and is unfair to your competitors.

On a side note, my current cell phone service is only $9 mo., so paying for the $50 bait-and-switch plan makes no sense.

How many other people has X-finity done this to?

Again, when I log onto my X-finity account, the following shows:

"Don’t forget, your internet plan includes an Unlimited mobile line for 1 year

Claim your line"
However, the link does not work.
A company should not make offers if it cannot fulfill them.
This is simple dishonesty.

The link does work. I apologize that you are running into issues with it, but I have helped more than a handful of customers redeem the same offer, and we are not trying to cheat you out of anything.  You do still qualify for the free Xfinity mobile line for 90 days. If you are having issues with the link and logging in to place your order, we would be happy to help you place the order for your new line. We have more than one unlimited plan, and from the description, I think the store agent was using the incorrect mobile plan option, and it can still be honored. Would you like assistance getting the free mobile line offer set up?

I chatted with a Comcast representative on September 12 and was offered the Samsung A36 phone and a year of free service, plus a free second year IF I "call to renew after one year and claim the second free year."  I paid $28 for shipping and I agreed to pay $25 for activation once I receive the phone.

I asked for clarification about the second year and was assured that no charges would be incurred as long as I "call to renew the free service for the second year."

The Estimated Charges however, show $10 per month.  The representative wrote that this would be shown as a $10-charge and then a $10-credit also, each month. (I rarely use my current cell phone, which is on a $9 plan; so I explained that I did not want the free phone if the service indeed were $10 per month.)  The representative assured me that there is NO $10 per month charge.  I have the conversation documented, in case there are problems after I receive the phone or in one year.

It is disappointing that the sales representative in Boca Raton did not honor what he offered two days earlier.

Addtionally, as I stated, when I first went to the store, I intended to sign up for this offer, which was e-mailed to me one day earlier:

Xfinity Connect More Internet
Enjoy 400 Mbps
$ 30 /mo. for
12 months

The representative would not honor this.  He then offered the $40-plan and the free phone with free service.  I did not go to the store, intending to get a phone, nor phone service.  While the $30-plan is very low, it should have been honored.  The representative said that that the offer was old.  The e-mail had been sent to me several times, the latest of which was one day before I went to the store.

Why is X-finity sending out offers that are "expired" and not honored, either by phone or even at the store?

I simply wish that the offers and employees were honest.

Did you get anything in writing from the agent?  Did the agent show you anything that said you would get a free Samsung phone and a free year of service?  And "Unlimited" doesn't mean free.

No, I did not.  The agent who offered me the free phone was at the store two days later and right there confirmed it again.  She said she had an emergency and had to leave.

She explained to another employee about my initiation of Wi-Fi two days earlier and that she could not portal my cell phone number on that day because my Wi-Fi service had just been registered.  The system would not work for the cell service on the same day.

The employee who took over would not honor what she had offered, even though he was aware of it.

The "Unlimited" phone offer only showed today when I logged on for the first time.  You theoretically could have been correct that the offer was not for a free service, only unlimited (with payment).

However, according to Comcast, it indeed is an offer for a free phone and service if you purchase Wi-Fi of at least 300 Mbps.

I called and the offer, apparently (hopefully), was honored with my paying a shipping charge and -later- activation fee.  See my second message.

This should have been honored at the store.
