Non-standard ethernet cable?

I want to add wifi extender to my XB7-T Gateway. However, the ports in back of the gateway are not the standard size. A standard ethernet cable plug is too large for the ports. Please advise how to work around this problem?

... XB7-T Gateway ... the ports in back of the gateway are not the standard size ...

The two too-small ports (top) on the XB-7 are RJ-14 telephone jacks, not Ethernet. The other 4 ports (bottom) are Ethernet ports. If you need more than 4 Ethernet ports you'll have to add an Ethernet switch.

Note that these are 1 Gbps ports, except for the lower-right port marked with an orange or red dot or stripe which can operate faster than 1 Gbps. See the image posted in https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/xfi-gateway-3rd-generation-xb7-red-labeled-ethernet-port/602daed7c5375f08cdf7db93.

Hello, @user_a38b94! Thank you for coming to the community with your questions. According to this Overview of Xfinity Wireless Gateways, the XB7 has 4 Gb Ethernet Ports altogether, which should fit regular Ethernet cables. Here's another post regarding which port(s) to use. May I ask when and where you purchased the Ethernet cable you're trying to use at this time?
