Bridge mode

Hi! I’m using my own mesh Wi-Fi system — it’s an Amazon Eero Pro 6E — and I need to have my Xfinity gateway (XB7 / CGM4331COM) set to bridge mode so I’m not running double NAT. Can you enable that for me?

Thanks for reaching out! We can definitely help point you in the right direction.

Since you’re using your own mesh system (the Eero Pro 6E), putting your Xfinity gateway into bridge mode is a great call to avoid double NAT. While we can’t enable bridge mode remotely from here, you can do it right through the Xfinity Gateway settings:

  1. Connect a device directly to the gateway using Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

  2. Open a browser and go to http://10.0.0.1

  3. Log in with the username admin and password password (unless you’ve changed them).

  4. Navigate to Gateway > At a Glance

  5. Select Enable Bridge Mode, then save your changes.

Just a heads-up — enabling bridge mode will turn off the Wi-Fi on the gateway, so all network control will shift to your Eero system.

Let us know if you run into any issues — we’re happy to help!
