39.99 Technician-Assisted Self-Install: Technician’s Time

Xfinity representative informed me that a professional Xfinity installation can take up to two hours. I wanted to try your technician-assisted self-install for $39.99. I know that appointment duration may vary, but can you let me know just how much of the technician’s time the $39.99 is buying me?

I assume it is not that much tjme, since he is not repairing anythjng. He is just testing the outlets, telling me which ones I can use, and explaining what steps I need to take to complete the self-installation, right?

user_srbw3y thank you for using the Xfinity Community Forums page to reach out today. I understand that you would like to get an assisted installation instead of the professional option. The amount of time/length of the visit can vary depending on the amount of questions and information you request from the technician.

So, if I’m genuinely interested in broadband connectivity and have a ton of questions, and wish to pick your technician’s brain about broadband connectivity for a while, is there anything stopping me from keeping your technician there for hours?

Other than their need to maintain their schedule for the rest of the day, no. I've had a lot of good experiences with technicians where I've actually done the same while they work, @user_srbw3y. With that being said, there are more effective ways to have a discussion about broadband connectivity. Our Xfinity forums and Subreddit community have plenty of current and previous technicians that visit the pages daily. They absolutely love to chime in, and you may even find that your questions have already been answered if you search for it. You'll just want to make sure that you check out the Xfinity Forum Guidelines and Subreddit Wiki before making a post.
