Xfinity discontinueing channels

I don't know how others here feel, but I'm getting very disappointed about channels that xfinity has dropped from my line up. And although, to me, it's not ALL about the money, but my bill is still the same. First it was MGM movies and now it's Retro movies. Retro was on channel 225 yesterday and today there is no channel 225 at all. The line up just goes from 224 to 226.

And I would love to be able to watch Newsmax TV and I've been hearing ads about it on the radio. The ads say that Newsmax is available on comcast channel 1115, but here in Massachusetts there is no channel 1115 in the line up. The channels just go from 1114 to 1116.

Bottom line for me is if xfinity keeps dropping channels I'm going somewhere else to get my tv, internet, and phone. I've been a customer of Comcast for several decades, but if I have to I will move on. Very disappointed.

dayziner, I checked my Retro channel 225 and you are correct it is gone. There was no notice on my latest bill which I just paid last week. Nice, they keep removing all the good channels and give us not good channels (I have to be very careful on how I word anything here or they will not let me post) in place of them. I am stuck with Xfinity/Comcast because of where I live. I cannot get any other internet service because they have a stronghold on certain communities and apartment and condo complexes. So many of my friends have left this company and are enjoying so many channels and entertainment.  I am said and very jealous.

This is all about Comcast mostly dropping Starz and Encore channels due to a carriage dispute (which is always about $$$$). Depending on your package, Comcast has replaced them with Epix and/or Screenpix channels. They may be near the same channel numbers. Here in Chicago, some have replaced Encore channel numbers.

I am also upset about this! I specifically chose a more expensive package so I could have TCM. Within two months, Xfinity removed it! I am still paying the same price, and no additional channels were added. Now they removed Retro without notice, and no substitute added and no reduction in price. We are stuck to OUR contract, so why isn't Xfinity sticking to theirs?? I have two accounts, home and office, and will seek out other options when my contract is up. This is not good customer service!

I for one am very dissappointed that channel 225 has been taken away from the line up.  That gives me less of a choice.  There are not many channels that I watch with my package that interest me any more.  I cannot afford what I have let alone upgrading.  Too many filler channels!!!

They removed FOLK without any explanation! I miss those old westerns like The Lone Ranger and Cisco Kid.

It was one of my go to channels

If you live near a metro area, just purchase an antenna.  I my service area we get 55+ OTA channels (free). It helps when any cable problems come up.  These shows are local show channels being broadcast OTA. You might check locally to see if the channel is still broadcast OTA. If not; Comcast can no longer carry the channel.
