Why is the broadcast TV fee so high and continues to get higher? What is the endgame to this?
The broadcast TV fee continues to climb. Most recently it climbed from $29.70 to $36.90 on my bill for basic cable. This is a 24% increase and it now well higher than the cost of the cable service that I pay to Xfinity. This is a charge that the networks charge cable companies for their services that they provide for free through an over the air antenna and I thought the network expenses were covered by the TV advertisements.
Is there someone in the Xfinity negotiation team who I can talk to about this or a contact from the networks who I can speak to?

Hi there, @user_mnnr3m! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum. We understand that fee increases can be difficult. I want to let you know that you can read more about the Broadcast TV and other fees here : https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/most-common-taxes-fees-surcharges-on-your-bill
For your convenience:
Broadcast TV Fee
The Broadcast TV Fee is an itemized charge. It isn’t a government-mandated fee and may change from time to time. It’s based on the costs Xfinity incurs to provide local broadcast stations to Xfinity TV customers. These costs include the fees broadcast stations charge Xfinity to carry them on its cable systems, which are among the fastest growing components of the company's programming costs. The Broadcast TV Fee isn’t included as a part of Xfinity's promotional pricing or pricing under your contract and can increase during your promotion or contract. You'll receive advance notice before an increase takes effect.
This fee appears in the My Xfinity services section of bills below your Xfinity TV tier information.
That piece of information covers the why of the situation, and as far as an endgame, as operating costs increase, I expect that this rate will continue to as well over time. I would not have a contact to provide as far as a negotiation team or who would be responsible via the various networks. However, if you have any additional feedback, I can certainly submit it.
