That's very strange as the tigers game should be on 1253, what happens if you speak into your voice remote and say Detroit Tigers game?

that's funny. I don't have a voice remote and don't want one. Not everyone wants the latest and greatest technology. Comcast can't even get me a large button remote any more.
I can get to 1250 then it skips to 1255. Nothing in between. It's either going to be a premium channel that I will (NOT) have to pay extra for or I'm wondering if I can't get to it because the Tigers aren't playing right now? That is what happened with my dad's AT&T Uverse cable. But he could at least get to the channel to see that "there is no programming available now".
@user_7lptic If you were already watching the Tigers last season on Bally Sports, the new channel should be included in your current plan.

I have the exact same issue! No remote that you can talk into. Older box with DVR and an LED display on the front. I spent 4 hours chatting with Xfinity assistants in India last night. They told me I needed the "More sports and more entertainment" package which was not true. I was already paying the local sports fee ($11.30) and had X1 Preferred Double Play (220+ channels). They sold me the "More Sports and More Entertainment" package, faster internet, Hulu and Disney all for the same amount I was paying. Great! As long as I get the Detroit Sportsnet. None of it worked. Not one of the 5 agents could do it and none of the packages they were trying to add took effect. Every 30-40 minutes a new guy would come on and we would start all over. "let me pull up your account...." Eventually I got to a "Tire 2" guy (whatever that is) that said that that channel wasn't available in my area. He had the latest information on it from a few day ago(!). Anyhow, I just gave up and told them to re-set my service to whatever I had before they messed around with it. It was 10:30 at night by this time so I signed off and went to bed.
I think it must be something with our old boxes. I don't want to give up my DVR and clock and channel display so I never updated. I think this is related to that somehow. Please let me know if you figure it out!
I came up with a work around! I have a smart TV (a Roku). I added the Xfinity Streaming App to it. Logged in with the access code they flash on the screen, my user name and my password and it worked! I see my full channel line up within the Xfinity Streaming App! Detroit Sportsnet is there station 1253. I don't know why I can stream it with the app but can't watch it with my set-top box (yes I have reset it a dozen times and it still isn't there) but here we are!
It isn't ideal but it beats contacting Xfinity! Hope that helps you!
Can you please clarify how you got this to work? Once you logged into the Xfinity Streaming App, do you go to the "Live" section to find channel 1253? Because when I do that, the list of channels goes from 1243 to 1255 with nothing in between.
I used to be able to stream the Tiger games on the Fan Duel Sports app and then logging in with my provider, Xfinity. I have the Xfinity sports package and can watch the Tigers now on channel 1253. I now cannot stream the Tigers, which needs to be done through MLB.TV, as Xfinity is not in the dropdown box, only Direct TV, Direct TV Stream, and Spectrum https://www.mlb.com/commerce/mvpd/dsn . I reached out to MLB.TV and they sent me a new link https://commerce.mlb.com/ei which has numerous other tv providers in the drop down box, including Xfinity. When I choose Xfinity, it logins in and then gives me an error code https://commerce.mlb.com/ei/return
I called MLB and they said the problem is with Xfinity and I need to contact Xfinity (also stated in the previous link provided).
well, I'm the one who started all this. Let me give you all an update. I had to upgrade my cable box (took almost a month to get one and it's twice as big and weighs less than the old box. And it came in a box that I could store my microwave in), plugged it in and followed the directions given. The cable box did not work. Switched back to the old box. Thought about it over a weekend and had a neighbor who convinced me to try again. Again, nothing. Called Comcast and after a while they determined that my new cable box had not been activated. So they activated it. Finally, it worked. I could get to channel 1253. Unfortunately, 1253 comes in for a minute or two, audio and/or video freezes, unfreezes and repeats the last 30 seconds or so of what I was able to see. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. I actually saw 2 commercials three times in a row. Sometimes it just bumped me back to the last channel I had on. Very Aggravating!!!! Called Comcast and over the next several days was on the phone with them for HOURS. They finally determined that the signal coming into my home was slow and set up a technician (free to me) to come fix it. The morning of the appointment, someone from Comcast called me and said they cancelled the appointment as the problem was with the Detroit Tiger and negotiations. Funny, that some people in SE MI can get the games, but I can't. I finally just gave up as I determined that they really aren't worth watching this year. Plus, the new cable box is so slow. When I turn on the tv it takes almost a minute to get to the program. Funny, how technology improves yet not in the world of cable. Takes several seconds to change channels. Wish I could get my old box back.

It's on channel 1253 in the Detroit area. If you have FanDuel Sports Detroit in your package you have the new channel too.
