When turning the tv on and pressing correctly buttons to HDMI no tv shows turn on

As written above, turning on everything that needs to on to watch the tv doesn’t automatically turn the tv shows on. I need to go to the guide, change the channel and then the connection is made to watch tv as usual.

When the tv is turned off for the night, the cable box turns off too.

TV doesn’t pause when paused for more than 5 seconds

Hey @EMCJ, thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support on our forums about the TV. I'm not a morning person myself and certainly wouldn't want to troubleshoot it just to watch my morning shows. To narrow down what could be causing it some, are you having to use the TV's guide to go to the HDMI or the TV box's? There is what's called an HDMI pass off that the box tells the TV it's on. Unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back in to see if the channels start working can indicate if that's what's causing the issue.
