weather channel has wrong local location

how to get weather channel to show correct local location.

@user_ysrnuj I know where I am it's important to have my local weather so I know how to dress my kids for their day. I definitely want to help you resolve this concern. Was the weather channel previously showing you your local weather? Have you tried using our Weather app on the X1 box? I would recommend making sure that the app has the correct information for your location. This link will walk you through how to do that.

I did do this and it is correct but I don't want to have to go into the apps everytime I want my local weather.  When I was with Breezeline all I had to do was bring up the Weather Channel in my guide and it had my local weather.

@user_ysrnuj, we agree! We just want to try and narrow down possible causes. Do you see weather displayed for the wrong location when you are on a device, connected to your WiFi, without GPS or a device with location turned off?

It's really not that hard....when I go on my tv and go to guide and select "the weather channel" that is where the location info is wrong.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? All of a sudden, my weather channel is showing the wrong location for local weather. I’m NOT using the App. I’m using comcast weather channel.

This must have something to do with the changes made in January nationally to TWC and local broadcasts. We were fine up until 2/2 here in N. California, then suddenly no more Local on the 8'S and only national weather. This is one of 4 channels that keeps me with Xfinity, but am now seriously considering downgrading or ditching it completely. I too, don't want to have to use an App, but if this is the future, it sucks.

Unfortunately, The Weather Channel controls what is displayed on their network and they may be going through some changes, or it's a technical issue on their end. In the meantime, you can set your X1 TV Box to display local weather, and here is a link if you don't already have that (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-weather-app-add-locations).
