Using Free Peacock Premium From Comcast Means You Can't Upgrade to Ad-Free Premium Plus
Finally received a banner for Free Peacock Premium and was able to initiate the benefit on Peacock successfully. I know I'm one of the few. But I wouldn't be so quick to jump on that offer if you would like Ad-Free Peacock Premium Plus. Because once you've signed up for Peacock Premium thru Comcast, there's no way to upgrade your account to Ad-Free Peacock Premium Plus. Peacock does not provide a $5.00 option to upgrade like it had in the past. It now points to Xfinity as the only way to "manage" your Peacock account. And there is no way on Comcast/Xfinity to upgrade your Peacock account to Ad-Free Peacock Premium Plus. So, if you take advantage of the Comcast offer for Free Peacock Premium you're stuck having to watch ads. Period.
If you think about it, since Comcast/Xfinity/Peacock are all under the same company, it's a win win situation for them. Use the Free Comcast Premium plan and be forced to watch their ads therefore strengthening their ad revenue from advertisers, they win. Bypass the Comcast offer and pay the $10.00 per month directly to Peacock for Ad-Free Premium Plus, they win. I'd say it was a brilliant scam but based on what we've seen from the Comcast/Peacock fiasco, I just don't think they're that smart...
I'm gonna sit back and watch for a while but I can see myself opening a new account with Peacock and pay $10.00 for Ad-Free Premium Plus very soon. Then it's time to consider moving on from Comcast after decades of being a customer. I've long been thinking about it anyway and this Comcast/Peacock nightmare is probably the last straw. So Comcast loses a $300.00+ a month customer for a $5.00 issue. Again, they're just not that smart...

Same boat, stuck with Peacock with ads for free now with no way to upgrade to no-ads. Few months later and no solution. Is this a ploy to anger people into not using it and signing up outside of it to fully pay for it?

Ugh, I have spent all day trying to get my account switch over and then ran into this. Xfinity is say sure you can upgrade just go to peacock, peacock is saying no you can't you have to do it through Xfinity....
What a waste....

Same Boat as everyone else, disgusted by this blatant double dip. All I want to do is give you MORE money for a service We use to have! How is that something that is NOT available? Thank you…

Just adding that I am considering other internet options now as well. What's worse is after the original removal, Peacock offered the 2 year option for $5 total for peacock to the folks that originally lost the free from Xfinity. Then if you switched over to the new free Xfinity, you cannot go back to the other offer ... very very frustrating. Xfinity, listen to your customers and let us pay the uncharge to get the no Ads version.

So let me get this straight.... If you received free Peacock through the gigabit subscription, there is no way to upgrade to ad free except to create a new account and pay full price? Is this for real? I just bricked my peacock account for ads?
This whole free Peacock perk has been an absolute clown show. Is this even legal? There's literally no way to unhook your subscription from Peacock even with the Flex box. Wish I never signed up for it and going to be canceling all Comcast services. Lots of internet options available in my area so no need to put up with this terrible customer service.

Absolutely awful xfinity! Peacock and ads is a no go for this Diamond xfinity customer. I too spent time as to how to upgrade to no ads. Thank you for confirming this mess. I will go back to my no ad streaming options. Sad!

You are absolutely right ! My wife and i have been with Comcast for over 35 years. When I saw this fiasco I said, Comcast Management has No Clue [edited all caps] as to how to keep good paying customers...$5.00 loses Comcast a customer with 35 years service for peanuts. Whomever at Comcast made this decision should be awarded with the Dunce Cap Award [edited for all caps] !!!!!

Truly a joke! 3 days ago I was a happy customer of both Xfinity and Peacock. I canceled my Peacock subscription when I saw the banner for free Premium on the Xfinity website (like I used to have). My Peacock subscription ended last night, and I ran upstairs and connected my Xfinity account. Now I have ads... No way to fix it. I only did this because I used to have Peacock premium through Xfinity and just paid the upgrade. It should have been made CLEAR that if you connected your Xfinity account (again), this time you will be forced to watch ads. Period. Hard stop.
The only way out is to lose years of series watch history and get a second account.
Do. Not. Do. It.
It's a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About ready to just buy an and-free plan under a new email. Three commercials in a 30 show. It stinks.

Tried to cancel my "Free" Premium Plus twice now - once by chatting with Xfinity and once by calling. In the most recent phone call, the agent tried to convince me to it was a benefit and not to cancel - "it's free - why would you want to cancel." I had to explain there was no way to upgrade to the Ad-Free version and after arguing with him, he finally agreed to go ahead with the cancellation. Incredibly frustrating!!!
He said to wait 2 hours for my account to update. It's been over 24 hours since my most recent attempt to cancel and my Peacock account is still stuck being billed by Xfinity.
I don't know if I should keep waiting and hoping that it will get cancelled or just give up and create a new Peacock account and lose my history and saved shows.
Has anyone successfully cancelled their Xfinity "Free" Premium Plus subscription and been able to upgrade their account to Ad-Free Premium Plus?

Same boat here. In the past I had the free Peacock Premium Xfinity perk and was able to add on Plus. Xfinity revoked it so I bought Premium Plus subscription directly from Peacock. Upgraded Xfinity to Gig and was offered complimentary Premium again so I canceled direct Peacock plan and now stuck without option to add Plus..... same issue as other posters, Peacock site directs to Xfinity site to add Plus, no option on Xfinity site. Lame. Xfinity please fix.

add me to the rest of the sadness here. I agree with some that this is really pushing me to just dump Comcast and finally figure out how to watch what I want any other way. They will lose a $300/month 25 year customer over $6 option.
