Steelers Football

Local xfinity cable programming should include All Steelers and Eagles NFL games included in cable service. Not having to buy into Amazon Prime . Or Amazon free trial period. I’m a central Pennsylvania Fan and could not watch a Thursday night game on my xfinity cable with the Added sports package. If I need streaming service to watch. Why should I have xfinity cable service .

Xfinity has no control over an exclusive contract between the NFL and Amazon.  I have Amazon Prime and I still don't mess

with it for a live game. Instead, I record it on the NFL network (4 hour delay), avoid seeing the score, and watch it in the morning

without commercials or delays.

Whenever a game is on Amazon Prime, or Peacock, or even (at least in the past, although I think they still do this) ESPN, the cities of the two teams playing are supposed to air the game on a local broadcast station. However, you say you're in central PA, which may be out of the "ranges" of both the Steelers and Eagles. Nobody is going to get both; they're too far apart - it's like somebody in the middle of California asking for both 49ers and Rams games.

Comcast can't do what you suggest, as the NFL has exclusivity deals with the streaming services. This is why, for example, Sunday Ticket has been available only on DirecTV (that contract ends at the end of this season, but the frontrunner to replace it is AppleTV). There's a reason Amazon spent (reportedly) $10 billion on a 10-year contract with the NFL.

@user_0feb6d Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us here on our Community Forums page. As you know, Amazon Prime has purchased rights to 'Thursday Night Football' and an Amazon Prime subscription would be required to access this on the Amazon Prime Video App or site. The Sports Package you have with us certainly does not include Amazon Prime as that is a third-party application, and we do understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback.

It's up to your local team to allow a local channel to show Steeler's football. We see Vikings games shown on a local channel besides ESPN, etc.

Understanding the contract issue with NFL and Amazon Prime . I have found that when looking for local channels (Pittsburgh) which was included in past. Theses local channels had contract issues with xfinity programming. And local channels that ran the football game had been eliminated from xfinity channels lineup. It’s only for Thursday night football. I followed game on radio. And delay internet. (My team lost ). Thanks for input. Just wanted to point this issue out. I enjoy watching my team live on television. i believe xfinity is a good service. Hopefully my team doesn’t have many Thursday night football games . I think I will complain to NFL forums also .

@user_0feb6d if "your team" is the Steelers, that was the only Amazon Prime game they have this season. The Browns, Chargers, Chiefs, Giants, Lions, and Vikings also do not have any Amazon Prime games for the rest of the season. (The Vikings do have a Thursday night game, against the Patriots, but that's on Thanksgiving night, and that game will be on NBC.) The Titans, on the other hand, are the only team with two remaining.

(I may have spoken too soon; for some strange reason, none of the Week 18 games have been assigned times yet, so it may be possible that there is one more Amazon Prime game unaccounted for.)

@user_0feb6d We certainly appreciate your feedback and we do understand that there are certain games that will be unavailable in your area. We hope that you are able to watch as many Steelers games as you can going forward (hopefully they win).
