Specifically looking for information regarding trouble recording PBS shows

I have no problem recording shows other than PBS shows. Whether I try recording PBS shows from my MacBook or TV, I usually cannot record a series, or record a show in advance of one day. I can set to record a single episode that day (maybe two days in advance), but even though it shows the recording is set (I see the red dot), the show doesn't record.

I see that others have had problems recording PBS shows, but the Xfinity team responds with generic instructions for recording shows.

Has anyone ever seen a reason why it's difficult/impossible to record PBS series or show episodes more than two days out?

Thank you for taking the time to reach out @user_87a202. That is certainly odd that you're unable to record shows ahead of time with only one or two networks. What type of DVR device do you have and have you attempted any troubleshooting steps to help resolve this, either manually or through the My Account application? Was this issue just recent or have you been having this problem for awhile now?

@XfinityJoshD​ Thanks for responding. I am using the equipment you gave me in May of 2019.

I recently set my DVR (via my laptop) to record the series, Death in Paradise. There were four episodes scheduled to run in a row on Wed. morning.

It only recorded one.

That's definitely a bit strange! Just to be sure, when you set the recording, are you following these steps: Set Up a DVR Recording with the Xfinity Stream App - Xfinity Support

For TV series, tapping Record will bring up additional recording options. From here you can choose to record Just This Episode or Set Series Recording.

  • To record a single episode, choose Just This Episode.
  • To record the entire series, choose Set Series Recording. The Series Recording options display. Tap Confirm after adjusting the options. These recording options are specific to that particular TV series recording

I don't have this same issue, however I frequently have trouble with the recording's quality and lo and behold it is usually a KCTS9 show when this happens.

Did Xfinity ever solve your problem?

@user_b45ca6​ My recordings from KCTS9 are jerky and unwatchable.  Other channels are okay.
