Hey there @user_1f463e we're so sorry to hear that this audio issue is persisting. What troubleshooting steps have you taken when this issue has occurred? Are you also seeing pixelation of any kind? Are any error messages or erro codes appearing on the screen?

I read business stories all the time about the desperate straights of cable providers losing customers to cord cutting. WHY DON’T YOU FIX THIS??  Are you trying to drive people away from your service?

Having this same issue in the Streamwood area (NW Cook County). It happens whether viewing through the DVR box or via the streaming app on an iPad.

This continues to be a problem as of 10/15/23. Xfinity needs to sort this out. This is the only channel that the sound cuts out. I went through all the trouble shooting steps and nothing fixed it.  There is a feed issue in the broadcast side. For the amount of money I pay for service, I should not be having this issue.

Same issue here in North Aurora.  How many people have to bring this up before they get a fix.  Very annoying.  They keep asking if you tried troubleshooting suggestions.  How many people have to tell them that doesn't work and it's a bigger problem.

Glad I looked this up!!

Xfinity......NO ONE HERE NEEDS A TROUBLESHOOT!! it's been going on for months!! And IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON AND NOTHING IS MORE ANNOYING THAN NOT HEARING THE ROAR OF THE CROWD WHEN YOU'RE TEAM SCORES!

SO...... please INTERNALLY find thr [Edited: "Language"] problem already! Oct 14th NOTRE DAME game literally BLACKED  out for a few VERY IMPORTANT minutes!!

For YOUR purposes.....I've unplugged EVRY connection from the TV multiple times,  rebooted, reset, etc......NOTHING STOPS THIS!  And yes, IT'S ONLY NBC 5 CHICAGO CHANNELL 188(for most of us I think)

IT'S YOUR ISSUE TO FIX NOT THE CUSTOMER!!!  I almost suggest you start crediting us for minutes lost!! I certainly pay enough.

Football weekend and the sound keeps dropping out on NBC Network ONLY....NBC owns Comcast.  [Edited: "Language"]?

I wonder if Over-The-Air is doing the same thing.  Does anyone watch Channel-5 Chicago using an antenna?

Too bad Comcast doesn't care enough to send out an e-mail or something letting us know they are aware of the problem (if they are), what's causing it, and when it will likely be repaired.

I’ve been noticing this same issue of the audio cutting out randomly and for a few seconds at a time all weekend (Oct. 14-15, 2023). I have only noticed the issue on the NBC Chicago channel (Channel 188).

It happens on Xfinity equipment (DVR box; non-DVR box) as well as streaming via the Xfinity app on an iPad. It happens during commercials and during the broadcast.

A friend watching Sunday Night Football on Sling is saying he has no audio issues. A family member on Xfinity in Naperville is saying he is also having the audio cut-out issue.

So this is not a hardware issue or even isolated to one geographic area within the Xfinity network. This appears to be something happening at the source and only for Xfinity subscribers.

This is terrible.  Everyone minute or two the sound stops for 10 seconds.  And sometimes it seems the images are glitching with it.

At the moment it’s horrible channel on 188 during SNF.  But it happens on other channels too.  Terrible!

Hello, @user_2yop9n. Thanks for posting on our community forums to let us know you are experiencing a similar situation. You mentioned this is not isolated to just one channel. Have you tried rebooting your box manually or through our awesome Xfinity App? Or check the coaxial connection on both ends (wall plate and box) to make sure the connection is tight? We also recommend you remove the audio connection (HDMI, optical, coaxial, RCAs) and reconnect it. Let me know if any of these steps helped.

I have been experiencing this for the last week in Kankakee County. Last night on October 14 the television froze and I could not get a picture for five minutes.  Please fix this problem.

Hey, @user_6bd114. Thanks for commenting to let us know you are experiencing a similar issue. Is NBC the only channel affected? Or are you experiencing the same issue on other channels? What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far? Did you try rebooting the box manually or through our awesome Xfinity App?
