Scripps Sports Poor Unwatchable Broadcast

Scripps Sports broadcast for Nashville Predators on channel 1028 is absolutely awful, unwatchable, skipping and stuttering.

I agree.  All the hype about the new channel and just disappointment.  It is so choppy.

Horrible! It's unwatchable. I tried reporting to Comcast but that's the biggest joke in the world. I also tried reporting the following test via the app but that got nowhere. I cannot get past the bot attendant which has the comprehension capabilities of an earthworm.

Here's the deal Comcast/Xfinity:

I am in the Nashville area and am reporting a persistent Xfinity TV channel-feed problem. The Spot – Nashville 28 (WNPX) is severely glitching on both channel 28 and HD channel 1028: repeated video freezing/pixelation and synchronized audio skipping/dropouts.

Other channels are normal, so this does not appear to be a general TV-box, HDMI, or in-home Wi-Fi problem. The same issue occurs on all other Xfinity devices in our home. Other channels are fine.

Please open a service ticket and escalate this as a Nashville-area channel ingest/distribution or carriage-feed impairment. Please provide the ticket/reference number.

Good evening @user_u73lym! I can see why that's frustrating, especially when you're trying to watch the Predators and the broadcast is stuttering to the point of being unwatchable.

When the channel starts skipping and stuttering, do the on-screen graphics, score, and ticker remain clear while the video is affected, or does the entire picture break up?

Does this happen during commercial breaks?

It happened across the entire picture viewing area. Commercials and other off-broadcast content also affected in the same way. On the plus side, the glitch was corrected before the game's end and was fine for the 9/24/2026 Preds broadcast, so much thanks for that.

My main issue that night was the difficulty in getting it reported. I had already been able to verify that the issues were not limited to just my home as others in the area were affected. And those receiving DTA signals (or streaming) were not having any picture or sound issues, so considering that even commercials were bad from Comcast's side of things, I knew it wasn't an issue with the Preds' broadcast signal. Rather, it was an internal Comcast feed or node issue. The biggest rub is that trying to alert anyone at Comcast in a timely fashion regarding these kinds of glitches is next to impossible. Your automated systems basically just tell the user that there are no problems when in fact the opposite is true. Much like Comcast's horrid website issues that have been ongoing for years, I don't understand how the company can justify being so utterly indifferent to their customers.

On the other hand, I do want to thank you for your response and also am also thankful that Comcast did get the hockey broadcast issue resolved.

I am glad to hear that the broadcast cleared up @blueline106, as someone that watches football all day on Sunday I know how important live sports can be. I am sorry that you were unable to get the issue reported. In the future if you have any issues you can always reach out to us here on the Xfinity forums.
