Scripps channels gone

Since April 1, Scripps channels have been pulled.  This is quite unacceptable.  In my city, SLC, UT., the Fox 13 local channel is the only local channel that airs local news when I’m getting ready for work and the local channel airs the best shows at the end of the day as well.   It is unacceptable that Comcast’s/Xfinity has discontinued these channels and I will change carriers if these channels are not reinstated.  This is not the first time there has been a temporary halt.  Do better comcast!    We pay a lot for your service, make it worthwhile!

Feel the same way. Xfinity is expensive enough and over last few years service has gotten worse. Been a customer since 1998, but thats about to change.

This is unacceptable. We pay so much as it is. We are a captured audience.  Costs are passed on to us, as I am sure will happen once a new deal is struck.

user_fb7ijb E. W. Scripps cable network programming is currently unavailable as our agreement with E. W. Scripps has expired.

Please know we pay programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made and they haven’t been accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, visit https://www.xfinity.com/programmingchanges.

But Xfinity keeps raising  prices so the Chiefs (CEO) in the company can profit..Xfinity is not looking out for us customers. Bottom line is it's all about THEIR BOTTOM line. Xfinity should refund customers for lack of service.

FYI , As of April 2026, the company reported an operating income of $412M and a net income of $146M, according to data on the E. W. Scripps Company Wikipedia page. And in 2024 they had a company total value assets reaching over $5billion. What's in it for us ?

Very dissatisfied & disappointed losing SLC Utah local channel Fox 13. I pay a lot of money to Xfinity for cable, internet as well as cell phones, to lose a much watched & preferred local channel.

This is forcing me to rethink my provider for all 3 & I am in the process of researching other possible provider considerations. It is unacceptable to take this long to come to a compromise to end this dispute. To suggest a higher cost to loyal customers should an agreement be made will also be unacceptable.

So how much will the monthly rate be reduced and when will this adjustment be made? We are being charged the same amount for less channels. There should be an adjustment for this.

Message displayed on TV says Xfinity cannot meet Scripps price without increasing customer price. It should say "without maintaining our huge profit margins". Also cannot see local hockey/basketball for the same reason.

[Edited: "Profanity/Inflammatory"]

That being said, eff Scripps too for holding NBC/ABC hostage. These aren't some streaming sports channels. These are national networks that should be free to everybody.

What was your profit last year Xfinity and not to air Fox that’s actually a over the air free channel due to greed and malice is wrong 🤯 I knew the original owner of Comcast and he is rolling over in his grave due to your greed and malice and lies.  I believe you owe your customer base a refund since off the air and to bring Fox back asap meaning today and management you need another sports car or second home off consumers🤯 your PNL is public and shame on all you upper and mismanagement team wanting to lie to your customers💩

Comcast blames Scripps and Scripps blames Comcast.   My feeling is that we are Comcast customers paying for a service that Comcast is no longer delivering to us.  Comcast says needs to stop grabbing money and take care of their customers.  So, Comcast, make a deal with Scripps that will bring back CBS WTVR Channel 6 in Richmond, VA. (as well as all the others you are disputing with Scripps).  It's not like Comcast needs money...look at how much the "leadership" at Comcast makes per year as well as everything else they get   We have tried repeatedly with Comcast to help lower our bill.  We are currently paying $347.00 per month and each and every time we call and ask for help, we are told we are grandfathered into an old plan and new plans are more expensive. The only one they actually came up with was for $10 less per month, however, only good for 1 year and then we would be paying even more than we currently do.  Really?   We're now with everyone else that has had enough with Comcast and are looking for alternatives.

I totally agree. News channel 5 in Nashville is a Scripps service and it is what we watch on Comcast 90% of the time. I am frustrated. If they don’t get this resolved soon, we will likely switch to

streaming combined with an HD antenna.

How do we get refunds if Xfinity/Comcast is not servicing us as per our contract? My fees keep going up and I have the Platinum package which is worthless.  Xfinity has been  the worst in service I have experienced so far and I am always having issues with our cable or internet. What are others doing when it comes to getting refunds ??

Broadcast fee of $43.40 per month. So Comcast, where's my credit for not receiving Fox 13 in Salt Lake City? And don't tell me I can stream it. You can't FF or reverse live newscasts. With one of my 2 DVRs, I could.

Both organizations can do better!!  Figure this out!!  Like many in this forum I am rethinking my options.  It’s unacceptable that the consumer is being impacted without our preferred local stations and cost may rise?!?!?

Each day this persist will negatively impact your bottom line down the road.

In regards to the removal of Scripps channels, we deserve to receive either a credit to our accounts or to receive other new channels to replace those channels that are now unavailable.  The packages on our accounts are for certain channels and since multiple channels are now not available WE DESERVE TO BE COMPENSATED!!!  You are blaming Scripps and they blame you.  DO BETTER.  Reach an agreement whatever it takes or credit us for losing multiple channels.  THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
