NFL Sunday Ticket in 2023

The NFL just announced that Sunday Ticket is moving from DirecTV to YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels starting next season.

How soon before the forums start seeing the following:

1. "When are you going to carry (choose: YouTube TV, YouTube Primetime Channels)? I don't want to have to buy a Roku for it."

2. "Why is (insert some game/team) blacked out on Sunday Ticket? The game isn't available on (CBS/Fox) here!" Okay, this shouldn't be nearly as bad as the problems some people are having with baseball/NBA/NHL broadcasts, as it doesn't depend on Comcast carrying regional sports networks (I didn't mention anybody in particular COUGHnuggetsknicksavalancherangersWHEEZE), but I have seen some creative definitions of cities' "local markets" for broadcast networks.

@ThatDonGuy

I know it has been some time since you authored this post, but I wanted to circle back on some of your questions in hopes we can prevent these questions from other Comcast customers as football season approaches.

  1. Today you can access the YouTube app directly from your Xfinity X1 and Flex boxes. This means you will not need to buy a secondary device to access YouTube content. For additional information on how to access the YouTube app on Xfinity X1 and Flex, please see here, YouTube App on Xfinity X1 Overview - Xfinity Support
  2. Unfortunately, Comcast has no control over what games may be available and where to watch them, we are simply a broadcaster of that content. Per the FCC's website, "DMAs (Designated Market Areas) are determined by the Nielsen Company and are based primarily on its measurement of local viewing patterns.  Neither the FCC nor ... (any) company plays any part in determining which counties are included in particular DMAs." Again, this means Comcast is not in control of what is considered your "local market". If you believe you may be misclassified, you will want to contact the Neilsen Company or the FCC directly. Once that reclassification is complete, that information will be shared with Comcast and we will ensure you receive the correct local programming.

I hope this addresses your questions and helps others who may be wondering the same. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
