NewsNation being dropped

A message went across the screen that said Comcast Xfinity was dropping NewsNation.  [Edited: "Solicitation"].   That’s our favorite News source.

Please do not drop News Nation. It will force me to cancel your cable service. It’s our only reliable news source.
Thank you!

I really enjoy newsnation and hope you don’t drop it. It’s one nonbiased news channel.

There are few great stations on your line up, this is one of them. They report the news in an unbiased manner which lets me decide for myself what it means. Most stations lean in one direction. I like neutrality. Please don't make me think about going somewhere else, fyi, I spend almost $300/month on your services. Disappointed!

We can certainly understand wanting to keep a particular loved channel as a part of the line up!

We do our very best to ensure that the programming that our Comcast family stays the same or gets better! There are times when Programming contracts may change and impact the line ups.

I've included some additional details regarding some frequently asked questions about these types of things!

We really appreciate NewsNation for an alternate view from the other guys, especially Cuomo. We can tell you 50 other channels we don't need.

I called and the rep said they are trying to reach an agreement at a fair price but the current agreement is expected to end December 15th. The only reason why I have COMCAST is for my elderly mother who becomes very confused and upset when she loses her favorite channels. I’m not happy that they discontinue wholesome viewing choices.

This is one of the best stations and one of the few that we stay with the sorry-excuse-for-a-cable provider Comcast/Xfinity. Drop this and you’ll see customers dropping xfinity.

Please keep News Nation. It’s one of the few decent channels with significant viewership. Drop this and you’ll see viewers drop the already overpriced Comcast/Xfinity bundle.

Please don't drop NewsNation. I recently started watching this station a few months ago for the unbiased news, and love it. I had previously watched this station for the show In the Heat of the Night, but love its nightly news programming.

Welcome to our community forum, @user_e30872! I know I'd be upset if I might lose one of my favorite channels and I'd be reaching out too! Like any contracts, programming agreements exist for a fixed period of time and then expire. Comcast has successfully renegotiated thousands of expiring contracts over the years and rarely experienced an interruption of service.

In the next few months, our contracts for the channels listed on the Contract Renewals site may expire. You can keep an eye on any updates in that link. We expect that we’ll be able to renew these agreements without service interruption and continue carrying the channels now and in the future. In the event an agreement can't be reached, however, the programmer may no longer permit us to carry them.

I saw the same message here in Atlanta. Called the number above and on the TV screen. Was put into an automated menu system that did not allow me to comment. We have been watching NewsNation regularly as a much better alternative to MSNBC, fox news, CNN, etc. I hope this dropping NewsNation does not follow through. I hate going back to the extreme networks😢

I am Xfinity customer.  Regularly watch & enjoy NewsNation channel.  VERY UNHAPPY & DISAPPOINTED IF DROPPED BY XFINITY! Tried contacting Xfinity Customer Service which was not at all helpful!

Most of the channels that we offer are owned by media companies other than Comcast/Xfinity, which means we need to pay those companies in order to bring their channels to our customers. We negotiate contracts with these media companies to obtain the rights to carry their channels, on-demand content, and streaming apps on our platforms. Comcast/Xfinity has successfully renegotiated thousands of expiring contracts over the years and rarely experienced an interruption of service. Learn more about this, here - https://www.xfinity.com/programmingchanges

I hope this helps.

Please do not drop Newsnation.  Please keep negotiating. It’s so much better than the other cable news channel.
