MLB Extra Innings

It is still about 7 weeks until the baseball season starts but I am wondering if the MLB Extra Innings pay for view package be available on Xfinity for the 2026 MLB season.  The Extra Innings channels are still in the channel lineup and in past years I have received a letter from Xfinity telling me that I am being automatically renewed as I had subscribed to the pay for view package last season. So far no letter and I wondering.

seattle4sports, hello there and thanks for reaching out! I totally understand your concerns and that need of seeing it! I will say, I have not personally seen anything as of yet, but I do know the site is still up but is reflecting 2025 instead of 2026. However, being a company in entertainment, there's not a doubt that we would not have it. That is amazing as far as the autorenew, but in the event it does not, we can help with adding that package to your package or you're able to take the lead by visiting this website >> link. Let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

I am on a bulk rate with my condo, i have had Extra innings added the last 4 years. When i look to sign up it tells me to call in for help. Cannot get anyone on the phone. Why can i not sign up without the help of calling in where they sometimes seem clueless (not all ) Please help me figure thisout.

metfan53, Hi there! Thanks for reaching out and for being an Extra Innings subscriber for the last 4 years. I can understand the inconvenience caused with run around. I am sorry to learn about this experience. You've knocked on the right door in virtual land. Over social media, we are a team of experts who are dedicated to resolving account concerns such as this. We can help. Because you’re on a condo bulk (community) account, certain a‑la‑carte add‑ons like MLB Extra Innings sometimes can’t be completed online. They often need an agent with expertise in these specific types of accounts to attach the package to the correct bulk billing code. To help with getting this taken care of quickly, please send us a direct message with your first/last name and full address. You can start by clicking the "direct message" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle Xfinity Support to send us a direct message.

Following this post.

Also wondering if there will be an Xfinity purchase option for my home team (Seattle Mariners) to add to MLB Extra Innings. Root Sports which carried the M’s last year is no longer available. And it looks like there will be a streaming option, but anything on cable tv?

@Com31

When the Mariners announced their streaming plans for the 2026 season they also said there would be a Mariners TV channel operated by MLB and that MLB is negotiating with cable companies including Xfinity for carriage agreements to carry the channel.  The channel would have the games and pre- and post-game shows but no other programming. This would be similar to what other MLB teams have like the Padres whose games are produced by MLB. The channel may not be available for spring training games but should be for the regular season if carriage agreements can be reached in time and sometimes that doesn't happen.

A good example of that was with the B10 network when several Huskies football games at the start of the 2024 season were blacked out by Xfinity because of a disagreement between the B10 network and Xfinity on the carriage agreement. With the season the Mariners had in 2025 and the high expectations for the 2026 season you would hope that Xfinity will come to a carriage agreement for the Mariners channel but Xfinity has been playing hard ball with Regional Sports Networks the last couple of years by moving them to their most expensive tiers which they did with Root Sports a couple of years ago.

seattle4sports Thanks for the reply. I do recall the B1G network negotiations with Xfinity and not being able to watch the first few Huskies games. Hopefully they’ll reach an agreement before the MLB regular season begins.

XFinity MLB Extra Innings usually mirrors what MLB.TV annual subscription is and that came out recently same as last season at the $149

The question wasn't about the cost of Extra Innings but will there be an Extra Innings pay-for-view package for the 2026 season. The reason is that MLB signed a contract with ESPN that has ESPN taking over MLB-TV and giving ESPN the rights to stream the games of many MLB teams. At the time this contract was announced there was a report that Extra Innings would continue but since that time there is uncertainty if that was correct.  The Extra Innings channels are still in the channel lineup but no announcement if the Extra Innings will be available for the upcoming season.

@Com31 These are great questions. My apologies for the inconvenience as we do not have those details just yet but we will have more information to share the closer we get to the start of the 2026 season.

We can definitely help clear that up.

MLB Extra Innings does not automatically renew from the previous season. It has to be added each year once the new season package becomes available. So if you had it last year, it would not automatically carry over into this season.

If it’s not allowing you to order it through the Voice Remote, a couple things could be happening:

- It may not be available to add just yet for the current season.
- There could be a pending order or account change blocking new add-ons.
- Or the system may just need a quick refresh.

Let’s try this first. Say “Manage subscriptions” into the Voice Remote and check if it shows as available there. If it doesn’t appear, we can take a closer look at your account and see what’s preventing the order from going through.

Let us know what you’re seeing on your end and we’ll go from there.

@XfinityAirelle:

I am afraid that you are wrong on Extra Innings not renewing automatically. I have been a subscriber for several years and each season it does renew automatically and it will be no different for the 2026 season.

Today, February 17th I received the letter from Xfinity letting me know that I am being automatically renewed.

The letter says the following:  "Thanks to your MLB Extra Innings subscription your subscription automatically renews for the 2026 season. Depending on the payment you selected last year you will either see a one-time charge of our regular season rate of $149.99-or installments of $37.50 spread across 4 months."

The letter also says that if you want to cancel your subscription or have any questions please call 1-800-XFINITY.

I don't know where you got your information but it is not correct as noted by the letter from Xfinity.

those letters aren't guaranteed.  some years I get them, but some years I don't and have to sign up again.

It is far too early for Xfinity to have an announcement regarding the 2026 MLB season. The exhibition season just began this week. In previous years I recall that Xfinity announced the upcoming season about 2 weeks before the regular season begins. Then they follow up with a free preview the first week of the season where customers can take advantage of the early bird pricing.
