MLB extra innings local blackout?

Since Bally Sports is no longer available, I was thinking of getting the Extra Innings package with the hope of being able watch Detroit Tigers games. Are local games blacked out?

Yes they are blacked out. I hope these will be opened up for victims of Bally Sports vs Comcast

user_7iqrp5  Unfortunately, our programming agreement with DSG has expired. We have made a number of reasonable offers that DSG hasn't accepted. This means we no longer have the rights to carry their channels, including your local Bally Sports network. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks.

I don't care about the savings, I just want to see Detroit games.

Hello user_saopy1

Unfortunately, MLB EXTRA INNINGS is not a replacement to view in-market games. Nationally televised games will continue to be carried by TBS, FOX, CBS, FS1, MAX, ESPN and Apple TV. Check your local listings for upcoming games or contests. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks.

Same in Grand Rapids. No Detroit teams are accessible.  I tried MLB extra innings and still no Tigers. I'd like to change my TV provider.

Hey there, user_txzq23, we definitely do not want to lose you as a customer, and we appreciate your feedback! I know how important it is to have access to your team's games!

Yes, assuming you live in Detroit's "blackout zone." The fact that you have a cable service that doesn't carry Bally Sports doesn't matter - since there are other ways you can get the channel, they assume that you can switch to one of them. There is nothing Xfinity can do about this (well, other than cave in to whatever Bally Sports is demanding that Xfinity pay for the channel, but ask any Denver Nuggets or Colorado Avalanche fan what happened when the Altitude Sports channel did the same thing, or any New York Knicks or New York Rangers fan about MSG Network).
