I do not know what the status of Marquee sports will be but I do object to the cost of their fans and non-fans. I for one will consider changing my choice of TV provider if the cost goes up to support the Cubs payroll. Comcast, please hold the line and not pay the Cubs

If they make the deal and I get hit with an increase in my bill I will drop Comcast. I'm not a Cubs fan and will not pay for something I will never watch.
I am a die hard sports fan....but there is no way this channel should be added unless it is on the sports tier. If you are a baseball fan, and/or a Cubs fan, pay the extra sports tier fee and get the channel that way. Most of the market is neither of these things, and shouldn't be paying monthly fees they could care less about. If you are a Cubs fan demanding this channel...ask yourself...would you pay a monthly fee for a White Sox channel? What about paying for a Packers channel? Sports tier is where this belongs...period.
The problem is that the networks play hardball and demand that it be part of regular packages so they get ALL subscribers to pay for it. When the network is not available, the few hyper-fans will make enough noise that these narrow-market channels end up being foisted on everyone.

Danny, I just went round and round with Xfinity about an $8.25 charge for Regional Sports Network that appeared on my bill -- and it does not include the Cubs or Marquee. I couldn't get a reasonable answer from Xfinity, contacted FCC to get a human being who speaks English to talk to me. She told me EVERYONE gets the $8.25 Regional Sports charge, and you can't take it off. So pay the extra fee and I still don't get the Cubs. AT&T is getting to be the only option.

Do you get NBC Sports Chicago (the White Sox / Bulls / Blackhawks channel)? The Regional Sports Charge pays for that as well.
Comcast isn't the only one they have not made a deal with yet. Dish, WOW, and smaller cable systems. Also, it looks like AT&T TV is the only streaming service with it.
Looking into YouTube TV now. $50/month and it has all of the channels I watch (except HBO but I can just do HBO Now if I want). Hoping that they get a carriage deal with Marquee and I'll cut the cord. Can't believe I'm paying Xfinity a regional sports network fee for NBC Sports Chicago which I can get on YouTube TV if there happens to be a Sox/Cubs crosstown game shown on there; otherwise, I'll never watch it (I understand where non-Cubs fans come from having to pay for something they won't use if Marquee is added to that RSN fee eventually). I also don't need ten bucks a month for the cable box, another fee for broadcast TV, etc.
This is such an outdated approach to TV. Xfinity and others are going to have to adapt to stay relevant, right?

No. I don't watch any of those teams. And never watch NBC anymore, either.

If Comcast and Marquee do not have a deal in place by March 20, I will be dropping them for AT&T.
