Loud background music

I have noticed that several channels where the background music is too loud. It is hard to hear words. Have seen others complain on a Facebook page. Especially the ID channel and travel channel. Is it possible to adjust the background? It is not my tv or it would be every channel. And others that commented they had no problem but the ones that did said they had comcast/Xfinity the others didn't.

That is one of my biggest complaint's. It is used nationwide on all tv services and live channels. The obnoxious background noise is used to cover equipment noise in studios; in commercials too either force you back to the room to turn down volume, or trying to hear disclaimers about the products they sell.

Not much Comcast, or others, can do to stop it. Some tv's and speaker systems have ways to select main speaker only to block out these type audio.

I too am having problems with background sounds being louder than the spoken words.

For the past 5 days one of our local channels (WTTV 4 CBS affiliate) has muffled sound. The music is audible but muted and the spoken words are nearly inaudible.

Every other station works fine. I have done a system reset without any improvement.

The sound will play without distortion if I turn on video description but then you get all the other things from video description.

The local station plays fine through the air.

Any ideas?

In some cases, this could be due to TV's or other audio devices set to 'enhance' surround sound. Some badly configured source material could fool the devices into over-doing the surround while reducing the main.

I have been battling the Loud Background Music issue for at least 2years.  The only channel that is affecting me isl NBC, especially when trying to listen to commentary on PGA Tour broadcasts and Hallmark movies.  The Hallmark Movies and Mysteriesare pretty much OK.  But nothing that comes in over NBC s without problems.  Wich there was a way to delete the stereo sounds.  I hv solved mey problem with using the captining feature, which jus appeared one day.  I don't know how to regulate, restore or start that feature.  Can somebody tell me how?
