Loss of Scripps channels

I have been a Comcast subscriber for 25 plus years, and it is my most expensive utility. If Scripps programing is not restored, specifically WPTV, our LOCAL NBC provider, I will cancel ALL services with Comcast by June 1st of 2026. It is absolutely outrageous that local programing that is available for FREE over the air is not included with cable service. My bill over the past several years averages around $225 per month. The clock is ticking Comcast.....

Hello, @user_dbb69i

Thanks for reaching out about the loss of channels owned by E. W. Scripps. This programming is currently unavailable as Comcast’s agreement with the network has expired. Please know Comcast pays programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made that they haven’t accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, visit https://www.xfinity.com/programmingchanges.

I for one am also upset with Comcast. This is some sort of ploy by Comcast to force their customers to subscribe to streaming networks to make more money. These channels are part of our contract with you and will be calling every month to get the discount I am forced to subscribe to just so I can get what I was paying for. Your cable subscription prices are outrageous to begin with and Comcast is lucky you still have customers!!!!!!!@!

If this issue is not resolved soon I will be changing to an alternate service. We continue to loose viewing and don’t get any compensation on our bill also we are charged for service if there is a problem. This is ridiculous.

Both comcast and scripps are at fault for using us as paying customers as pawns in the chess match for more $$. This argument is largely about NHL games that most of us dont even watch. There are ways for channels to stay available while negotiations take place. Any statement from either side to the contrary is disingenuous at best. Both sides are counting on us as paying customers to take sides or they would keep the negotiations out of the public eye. These carriage disputes are getting old and tiresome.
