E. W. Scripps Programming Agreement Expired

E. W. Scripps cable network programming is currently unavailable as our agreement with E. W. Scripps has expired.

Please know we pay programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made and they haven’t been accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience.

Why am unable to watch WPTV in Martin County.    I have watched that station all of my life since the early 70s.   I hope that you plan on prorating my bill.

I sure hope Comcast is working on getting an agreement with Scripps Broadcasting here in Michigan. The loss of the ABC stations means I have to find other ways to view them. Once I do that, I will learn I don't need to rely on Comcast. Additionally, customers should be seeing a reduction in our monthly rate now that you've eliminated channels that were in our package.

if you are looking to go out of business or lose massive numbers of customers, you are sure going about it right. "we're not giving you the one channel you watch (ch. 5 nashville), but we're going to charge you full price anyway."  great customer satisfaction plan....

This as bad as the Altitude Sports (Avalanche & Nuggets) fiasco. Please fix our access to our local ABC station. I'm looking into "cutting the cord". I find it amazing Comcast/Xfinity continues to take my money. You guys are doomed to be the next Blockbuster.......going out of business

Please reinstate E. W. Scripps local programing or refund local channel fees.

It stands to reason that if Xfinitu is no longer paying Scripps that they now have a net surplus of funds. All of this stuff about bringing us exemplary entertainment yet not addressing the customer’s questions is dodging the issue. We have a right to expect receiving the major networks. Either bring back ABC or lower our bills.

The concern is not "Community Center" help related............ Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Good morning @user_h80utt. Thanks for reaching out about the loss of channels owned by E. W. Unfortunately, you did not address my position.  If Xfinity is not paying E.W. Scripps for programming, there should be a surplus of funds since our rates have not decreased.  It seems reasonable, therefore, that this surplus would be rebated back to the consumers.   With so many consumers leaving cable TV, it would be a good faith response.

I don't expect that we will come to an agreement.

Unfortunately we do not give out surplus because we are negotiating with a company for service.

You’re negotiations are taking far too long and we are not getting the service that we expected to get for the price that we are paying. Can anyone address that concern?

This is utterly unacceptable to not have the basic cable channels during the biggest sports time of the first half of the year.

Xfinity has made more than enough money this last year and is making paying customers bear the burden of them trying to squeeze an extra few points of margin.

I’ll be contacting customer service to cancel my subscription today.
