Discover Plus

Will there be an extra chage on my bill for DiscoverPlus. My current plan gets all the programs mentioned in Discover plus advertising

CCAndrew: there is NOTHING there that I have not been saying that you nave repeatedly denied - all new content in those channels - Property Brothers Home, Home Town, Chip and Joanna - all of which were formally on cable will NOT be on cable - just DiscoveryPlus. I have NO interest in watching any leftover reruns on cable. For a cable company which is showing Magnum PI and 10 year old SVU - I would think that would be pretty clear.

Remember that Comcast is just a conduit for networks. You can't blame them for what OTHER networks are doing. Are the networks with Magnum PI and SVU part of NBC/Universal? If not, then Comcast has nothing to do with it. There is tons of new material on NBC networks, despite Peacock being around for nearly a year. Looking at the guide, there are NEW episodes of many shows on all the Discovery Network channels I could see coming up this week.

So, please post PROOF that Discovery Networks is yanking EXISTING shows off the linear channels. From all I've read, the Discovery+ exclusives are NEW shows, although they may be variations of existing shows or rebirths of cancelled shows.

I understand that the programming is a streaming thing that we can pay $4.99 a month for.  Many of the channels will remain on Cable?  HGTV, Food Network, etc.  How abaout The Magnolia Network which is new?  Will we only be able to see that if we purchase the streaming?

Yes I want to know about Discovery Plus and  The Magnolia Network also.   Are they 2 different channels?
I hope they are included in what we already pay - as we already pay plenty.

As xfinity viewers will we have an opportunity to receive discovery plus in the near future?

When will x1 have a Discovery Plus app? My smart TV is too old to stream from the net or cast from my phone. I need an x1 app like Netflix or Prime so I can watch D+. Verizon is offering the service for free for 6 months, but I don't want to waste a fee month not being able to watch it.

And will the Discovery+ be like Netflix & Prime paid directly to host, or will I get completely burned like Acorn & CuriosityStream because Comcast won't accept my pre-paid account?

Nothing has been announced or news released. The Discovery Plus streaming service is 1 day old. It took 7months to get an HBO Max app in the middle of a pandemic

I don't see it in my channel guide like AMC + is, and I'm not finding it under apps. How do I watch it?

Presently there’s no agreement between Discovery Plus and Comcast, so no X1 app. Do a Google search of other compatible devices for viewing.

Discovery Networks has now listed what devices you can watch on.

I subscribe to Discovery+ (no ads) and watch it on my Android phone and my Android tablet. I hope Xfinity adds the Discovery+ app (just like it has apps for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.).

@DR2020: The TV commercials for Discovery+ do not claim that new episodes of programs on the Discovery family of channels will only be on Discovery+.

You did not answer the question. Do we have to pay extra for the channels if we already have them. Will it be the same shows

That did not answer the question. We get all the channels now that are in discovery plus. Will we still get them with the same shows

Discovery+ went live yesterday.  Did your cable lineup change?  Did you lose any channels?  If not, keep monitoring your channel list and see if anything changes in the future.  If it does, then you have reason to start complaining loudly.  Otherwise, take a deep breath and keep watching your shows.

@apcanova It is a separate streaming service. Has nothing to do with the current channels on Comcast. It will add more content if you want to subscribe to it through Discovery and view it on other devices. This has been answered before in this thread and others. It started on the 4th and no Discovery channels on Comcast have been lost.

I subscribe to Discovery+, using my desktop PC, laptop, Android phone, and Android tablet. It is not (yet) available on my Samsung smart TV.

I watch Discovery Network channels every day, none of them have gone away (yet--who knows?).
