Disappointed with Comcast and Bally Sports

Will be researching other carriers for the Twins when my contract with Comcast ends. Unfortunate for Comcast and many Twins fans

Sorry you're stuck with the contract. Watch your bill - I bet they'll still hit you with the regional sports fee even though you can't watch your regional teams. [Edited: "Inflammatory"]

I'll be switching to DirecTV Stream this week and kicking Comcast TV to the curb.

@XfinityEmilyB What I want, you can't offer me. I am a baseball fan and can't watch the Tigers. My guess is Xfinity has no interest in a resolution since it's rumored Amazon is taking over Bally's come October.

You can't offer me what I want when you don't have it.

I understand, user_o640ua. If we do get any more info on Bally, we'll let you know.

I got a 5.00 credit. The only reason I have Comcast was to see the Cardinals. Bye bye Comcast. Worst customer service .

Others have posted there is a $8-$10 reduction in the RSN fee. Shows just how obscenely expensive just ONE sports network is.

Hello @user_7l17k6

Thanks for reaching out to our team for questions about bally sports.

We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused you.

NBA, NHL, and MLB national coverage, is still available with Xfinity. If you have our Voice remote you can say “Sports” to explore your options. You can also press “C” on your Xfinity Voice Remote to go to Sports Zone and see available sports content.

Nationally televised games will continue to be carried by TBS, FOX, CBS, FS1, MAX, ESPN and Apple TV.  We value your business and do not wish to lose you as a customer. My understanding is that DirecTV and Fubo have video plans that include Bally Sports Network. I recommend checking the Bally Sports website for availability and pricing.

You may also present this special FuboTV offer, which includes:

A free trial period, and 30% off for two months on the Pro and Elite tiers.

    • Both tiers include Bally Sports regional sports networks. Additional details can be found below.
  • Customers can sign up for this offer through:
  • The sign-up window will last for 60 days.
    • A credit card is required.
    • To avoid being charged for a subscription, the customer must cancel the trial before it ends.
    • Xfinity credentials are not required

We no longer have the rights to carry DSG channels, including your local Bally Sports network. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks.

I have a link that goes into how to understand your bill including where to look for the bill credit and how to locate your contract details https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/new-bill-design.

Please let us know if you have anymore questions.

So, is this an admission that Comcast isn't even going to try to cut a deal anymore [Edited: "Inflammatory"]

Edited: "Solicitation"] Insane if all you need is Bally's.

All Comcast is doing is allegedly not charging the RSN fee anymore, not giving us actual discounts. Although the RSN fee is still listed on my next bill so I've saved nothing yet but missed plenty of games that I already PAID FOR! And apparently Comcast will be charging me for games they refuse to allow me to see AGAIN on the 15th. [Edited: "Solicitation"]. [Edited: "Solicitation"]

Hello, @1225. We’ve been flexible with DSG, who is in bankruptcy proceedings but have been unable to reach an agreement that’s fair for our customers. This means we no longer have the rights to carry their channels, including your local Bally Sports network. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks. At this time, we aren’t authorized to carry their programming.

@XfinityKei hmmmmm, so are you saying to sign up with Fubo AND keep Xfinity? Makes no sense to spend on two service. Thanks for the offer. This makes it easier to walk away.

@user_7l17k6, we certainly do not want to lose you as a customer, and we truly apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this has caused you. The Fubo offer would be separate from your Xfinity services, but does include a free trial period, and 30% off for two months on the Pro and Elite tiers.

We will definitely get your feedback passed along as well. Thank you!

@XfinityKei - this is completely unhelpful.  It does not help me solve the problem of watching my teams, the #1 reason that I have cable.  Agree with the above.  Why sign up for Fubo and have Xfinity.  I'll just drop Xfinity for breach of contract, thank you

So we can switch <Edited: Solicitation> and get rid of xfinity cable correct (while keeping xfinity internet if we choose). This seems like a really good business decision xfinity - but thank you - we were looking in to switching <Edited: Solicitation> and dropping xfinity before this happened. You are losing a ton of customers who are ‘cutting the cord’ and now, because you couldn’t reach an agreement with Bally that made enough monetary sense to you / you are pushing even more people to get rid of comcast cable. Humm.

@user_ltsgug  Thanks for reaching out about the loss of Diamond Sports Group (DSG) programming, which includes Bally Sports regional sports networks. This programming is currently unavailable as our agreement with DSG has expired. Comcast pays programmers to bring our customers the entertainment, information, and sports they want. We work to negotiate fair terms in order to ensure the greatest value for customers given all the ways content can be accessed today. We’ve been flexible with DSG, who is in bankruptcy proceedings, but have been unable to reach an agreement that’s fair for our customers. We know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and we apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, visit www.xfinity.com/howitworks.

I agree.  If Comcast doesn't work something out so that I can watch the Braves and other sports teams then I will drop them as my cable service.  To me, this is breach of contract on their part as they are no longer providing the services for which I signed up.

If you read your service agreement, it most likely says they can make any changes at any time.

Sure. And subscribers can drop them for someone providing the services they want. It works both ways.

I don't really care about the NBA/NHL playoffs that Comcast is trying to plug. You pulled our local baseball broadcasts out from under us. You have upset a significant portion of your subscribers. I'm giving Comcast until mid- June to fix this. Otherwise, it is hello FUBO, Max and HULU. Still less than my Comcast package. Been almost 30 year subscriber

@user_yr8myg have you reached to Bally's as well?

there are 2 sides to this situation, and if Bally's is asking something ridiculous like $50/month per subscriber, then i would applaud xfinity for saying no and not jacking up my bill...

User_7117k6 its not just Twin fans, we may be rivals but as a Tigers fan I feel your pain.  I have found a couple of options DirecTV stream and FUBU, I was waiting to the end of the month to see if Comcast could come to a resolution.  I have been a Comcast costumer for more than 20 years but if I cannot get the programming I want it will be time to cut ties.

Good afternoon @user_zxp42v, and thank you for taking the time to reach out on our Forums regarding your Bally concerns. I see you are wondering why we no longer have Bally. Unfortunately, our programming agreement with Diamond Sports Group (DSG) who owns Bally, has expired. We’ve been flexible with DSG, who is in bankruptcy proceedings, but have been unable to reach an agreement that’s fair for our customers.  This means we no longer have the rights to carry their channels, including your local Bally Sports network. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks.

We apologize for any inconvenience, please let us know if you have any additional questions our team can help with.

so if you not longer have regional sports why are you still billing for it? I've called and the agent cannot explain it other that I will get a one time credit of $20, while you will continue billing me $10 a month for something I do not get. To me that sounds like fraud.

@XfinityAlyssaA "...have been unable to reach an agreement that's fair for our customers."  Well I guess then that the other cable providers have reached agreements with Bally that are NOT fair to their customers?  Hmmm

Hi, please be aware that Xfinity has not actually been flexible with DSG. They wanted to bump them to a higher tier and make them pay Xfinity more. They have been unwilling to budge, so not only is DSG in the wrong but also 100% Xfinity. Kind of an idiotic thing to do for a company in bankruptcy. Xfinity is pure greed, and watching DSG and Xfinity fail here is like watching two bullies take advantage of everyone.
