Court TV gone?

As of June 2025 my court tv channel is gone. The Xfinity guide displays it as court tv but when you go to it, it’s broadcasting some old TV shows from the ION channel. One of the best channels to watch live court coverage now gone. May be time to pull the plug.

user_5thu03 Thank you for letting us know about these changes. This change was made by the Network without notice and is expected to remain ion plus in the future. Thank you for understanding that we are the service provider and not the Network who makes these changes.

I agree and NOTHING on any bills from xfinity showing the change.  Also when I look at my xfinity channel lineup it still shows Court TV.  Get it together xfinity. It was literally the only reason I had the higher xfinity package and will now downgrade.

@madmad1 I spent two hours on phone and an hour on the chat feature, complete waste of time.  Nobody knows anything!

I am upset as well. It is my favorite channel and I would record it daily to watch later in the day and evening. I called Comcast customer support yesterday and they couldn’t find where it moved to but started a ticket. I was hoping the guide and search would locate it but it is still showing Court Tv but is Ion plus now. ☹️

I'm in SE Michigan and it tells you where to reset your antenna (WHICH I DON'T HAVE BECAUSE I'M PAYING XFINITY A FORTUNE) and ION Plus which tell you it's on xfinity in my area.  It's ridiculous. I'm streaming and screen recording it but it's a pain.

Hi, I can find Court TV on my Roku Channel but I can’t record it to watch later. What streaming service are you using and how are you recording it?

I'm just streaming using my computer and using XBox Game Bar to record.

I agree awful states 7.2 since when does Cable have half channels. It is showing court TV yet not present even when speak into remote court TV. Xfinity costs extremely too much and I spoke to my husband today told him we are leaving I over paying over 100 for wifi and then more for channels! Channels we aren't given a say in ...luckily I found it on my Samsung plus, still you cannot use the cable to record it .. frustrated disappointed and definitely leaving, esp when I can get wifi for under 50 with my cell service! I'm done! Bern loyal customer for more than 27 years too, no more!

I just signed up for a free 21 day trial of YouTube TV and am now able to watch and record Court TV again. It will save me about $50 from Comcast cable TV.

@Langel the 7.2 is for people with an antenna. Ironic that they can pay fifty bucks for an antenna and get a station that those who pay hundreds of month to xfinity for, can't get.

@nemshick766 how are you recording it?

I am a trial basis with  YouTube TV starting this morning and they have their own Cloud DVR as part of their service. You can record as many shows as you want.

@Langel - since the switch to digital, all broadcast channels are "half channels," as you put it. The main channels are usually {something}.1 - for example, what was channel 7 for a long time is now 7.1. One of the benefits of digital TV is, each broadcast channel can now include "subchannels," usually numbered X.2, X.3, and so on. This is where channels like Buzzr, H&I, and Court TV would be. Xfinity, for the most part, takes these channels and assigns them their own numbers depending on where you live. although there are some rights issues in some cases.

In this case, it is possible that whoever was broadcasting Court TV decided to switch that channel to Ion instead. For example, in Las Vegas, Ion is on 34.2 and Court TV on 34.3; they are broadcast by KMCC, which is 34.1. In San Francisco, Ion is 65.1 and Court TV is 65.3.

But you decide which networks to contract with.  I suggest you contract with Ion Plus.  YouTubeTV carries Court TV and I would suggest current xfinity users move to that.

Yes court tv is gone. Its now Ion Plus. If you want to watch court TV you'll have to do so on their website or in their app.

@FixItAgainTony  It's on may streaming platforms that don't require xfinity but you can't record the channel.

@FixItAgainTony

as madmad1 mentioned, you can find Court Tv on streaming channels like the Roku TV channel but I couldn’t record it there.
There are streaming channels that you pay monthly for that have their own DVR service. If you look for Court Tv streaming you can find some to possibly try on a trial basis. YouTube TV is one of those. It has unlimited DVR cloud service. I have been testing it out on a trial basis for 21 days and it is recording all of the Court TV shows.

My only issue is it freezes up when fast forwarding and then playing again and also when pausing and playing. I am working on trying things to remedy that.

@Dahlia1126 hope you get it resolved. I'm signing up next week. It will also save me a lot of money each month.

Be aware that Court TV is a broadcast network carried by a local TV station. If that station has changed affiliations, then there is nothing Comcast can do, as they just pass on what is broadcast. It can sometimes take awhile for that station to send the correct data to guide services, which then send it to companies like Comcast.

@Andyr1  understood. We're asking for xfinity to contract with Ion Plus which apparently now carries Court TV in our area.

You can find Court TV on Xumo app and it’s free. I’ve been watching all the live action.

@user_y2ngix There are many places you can watch it for free, the problem is you can't record it.

This needs to be remedied. When?

6 Messages

It won't be remedied. Court TV  made a change in its broadcast and its taking them time to fully implement changes.

If you want to watch Court TV, you can do so online or in their app.

I am looking into YouTube because I really would like to record the show as well as watch it live. I will cancel Xfinity and go elsewhere if this isn’t fixed soon.

@user_i1pstx Are you listening at all? Court TV has decided that they will no longer provide their shows on television. Court TV will only be on streaming platforms from now on.

Their network is changing to Ion Plus.
