Comcast will stop issuing new Cablecards in late October

I can't post links here, but a simple google search will bring up a few articles.

I'm crossing my fingers that my existing Cablecard devices will continue to function for many years to come

westwayneguy88888 Thank you for using our Forums and you are correct starting October 24 that change will being into affect. After the 24th, customers will only be affected if they encounter a video service issue likely caused by a CableCARD problem.

so no new ones will be issued and if there is an issue with an existing one, that will not be replaces

sounds like if i can, I should get an extra one as insurance
