Big 10 Network - Xfinity not carrying all live broadcasts?

We just paid to add the Big 10 Network to our plan. There is a local commercial running here that states that Xfinity is the only provider to not accept the Big 10 expansion offer and will therefore will not be providing all live games that are on the network. The Xfinity guide tonight showed that the Oregon State vs UW soccer game was on - but it wasn’t so this appears to be accurate. This is false advertising - I can’t believe a company is allowed to do this.  Go to  allbtngames.com  and see if you have coverage. We paid and we don’t get it? Will this be changed?

What is being done to get this issue with West Coast schools and the BIG10 Network BEFORE SATURDAY ?  It appears you are doing nothing to get this resolved !

@user_dbfs39ie NOTHING !  Comcast keeps wanting to blame the BIG10 Network and the schools saying they don't have a "Contract Agreement" to telecast the Washington, UCLA, USC, and Oregon games. Then why the [Edited: Language] was the USC, and UCLA games broadcast on Comcast last weekend ?

Because the games weren’t on BTN.  USC/LSU was a neutral site game controlled by ESPN (and aired on ABC), and UCLA/HAW was a game controlled by CBS under their Mountain West contract (since HAW was at home).

If the games air on any outlet besides BTN, you most likely will see them on Comcast.  If they air on BTN, that’s a little more dicey.  Comcast should step up to the plate and make a deal.  Not holding my breath on that one.

Funny.... My Xfinity bill didn't go down when the PAC-12 network went dark even though I was paying for the More Sports Package.  There are two devils in this fight, Xfinity and Fox, and they are both playing dirty and treating their customers like [Edited: Language].  (Fox owns 61% of the Big 10 Network).  They both knew this was coming well in advance and didn't announce it until the last moment, in essence holding their customers as hostages and using us to leverage their bargaining positions.

To be clear, there is a reason that the Oregon-Idaho game was on the Big10 Network and not Fox or some other outlet.  Greed.

I have been a Comcast subscriber for over a decade. I will be canceling my service and go to a streaming service that offers local Big 10 games. I originally choose Comcast over Direct TV was for the PAC 12 network. Now I have no reason to stay!

user_93a931, We do not have the rights, currently, to broadcast games airing on Big 10 Network for the following teams:
University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)
University of Oregon (U of O)
University of Washington (UW)
University of Southern California (USC)
Most of the games for these universities may be available on other channels, networks, or streaming platforms.

Thank you so much for your understanding about this, and my apologies that you can not watch these games on the network.

I called the 1- 800 Xfinity number to see if the dispute between the big 10 and Comcast would be resolved soon. I also inquired to see if there was a better package available to me as my monthly bill is getting quite high. The agent said that because I’ve been a customer for a long time and that I also pay my bills on time he could save me some money. He said for him to be able to do this I would have to pay my next months service in advance. Because of this dishonest agent we are out 700 dollars and our credit card is cancelled. Unfortunately Xfinity won’t accept the blame and we are out 700 dollars. Sure the Xfinity people I have talked to seem concerned but they won’t do anything for me. I am currently looking for other options for my tv and internet service. It’s hard to believe I can’t get satisfaction and my 40 years as a customer

Comcast outsourced its call centers to foreign countries several years ago so you get people were some of them barely speak English and most of them have no clue what to do when you call with a problem or question. But of course Comcast doesn't care because it saves them money and contributes to their record profits each year. But what you experienced is unbelievable and that Comcast doesn't accept responsibility.

I never call and instead I go to their local office where the people are wonderful and helpful and provide the kind of customer service you like to receive.

Just found out this was happening. You guys get a HUGE monthly payout from me to be watching some random promo when the USC game should be on! I guarantee you when the fiber run by another company in front of my complex is activated and this is still not resolved I will be gone.

I don’t think Xfinity has any idea how big a deal this is . I don’t know how many people had the Pac 12 network on Comcast but I’m sure most of them are upset with the inability of them to come to an agreement with the Big 10 network. Several of my friends have either added YouTube or Sling, or are in the process of switching to Direct tv.

Thank you EmilyB for communicating with me . After getting no where with your off shore service representatives I contacted the office of Tom Karinshak at your main office in Philadelphia. After some dialogue with a few company employees I was give a “ticket number”and did get a phone call within 24 hours. The bottom line is your employee said that we needed to pursue this matter with our bank shifting the accountability away from Xfinity. Our bank isn’t responsible for the dishonest actions of your representative. When I called the 1-800-Xfinity I didn’t think I had to worry about the integrity of your company. The comments we got from your representative that called us were ,are you sure you called the right number, and contact your bank. So you see Emily at this point I don’t feel like a valued customer.

I am a Comcast subscriber and I support Comcast's position.  I don't want to pay more so some people can watch their favorite football teams.  Let them pay extra to do that.  It's all about money as the teams that left the Pac-12 know and took actions to get more of same.  I sure don't want to pay more for the basic subscription so they can watch as part of the basic subscription packages as they used to do when they were part of the PAC-12.

I live in Jacksonville Florida and have Comcast and I am unable to get any games that have the West Coast teams. I tried multiple times to contact somebody to ask them how to get this handled however of course with Comcast you get nothing unless you talk to someone you can't understand in a foreign country. It is absolutely disgusting but I'm not shocked that Comcast would do this.

@ShanOSU-1 There are two ways for you to "handle it."
One - move somewhere that has the version of Big Ten Network that has the western teams.
Two - switch to a cable/satellite/streaming service that does.
Other than that, there isn't much you can do about it, other than wait for Comcast and Fox (primary owners of the network) to come to some sort of agreement, and considering how many years it took just to get Xfinity to put ACC Network on the air at all, don't hold your breath waiting for a resolution.

Comcast is showing zero customer service.  We pay extra for the enhanced sports package, but they can't negotiate this new conference realignment.  If Dish and DirectTV negotiate a good merger, it might be time to switch.  Shame on Comcast!

We do understand your feelings on the current situationuser_d837f1, and right now we do not have full rights to broadcast B1gTen content. Many of these games are available for viewing on other channels.

1. Say “UCLA football” (or something similar) into their Xfinity Voice Remote.
2. Use the C button on their Xfinity Voice Remote to launch the X1 Sports app.
3. Use the on-screen guide to find affected games that may be available on other channels.

Some of the games of former PAC 12 schools are only broadcast on the Big10 network. We paid Comcast to get these games on the Pac12 network and didn’t get a reduction in our payment when the channel went away. We are basically paying to get the games that are now being broadcast on the Big10 network but because Comcast can’t seem to come to an agreement with the Big10 network these games are being blacked out on the west coast.

I understand that Comcast has come to an agreement with the Big10 Network. The games will no longer be blacked out for our west coast college teams.

And my bill went up $20 with the addition of big 10 network!!!!!

Didn't order it. Don't care about it and don't want it!!!!!

Unless you ordered the big 10 network you would not get it. The people that already had the big 10 network but weren’t getting the games because of the blackout are now getting the games . [Edited: Soliciting] Good luck dealing with customer service it can be a real challenge.

Hello, @user_p2q36e! Thank you for reaching out. The channel moving from More Sports and Entertainment to our Popular lineup should not have any effect on your package price. There may be an adjustment to the Regional Sports Fee charge. This announcement was made on the bottom of your recent bills.

With all of that being said, I would love the opportunity to look over your bill and see why it is higher. Please, send a DM to Xfinity Support with your full name and address to get started. I'll see you there!
