ande4jo Hello, and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums, I completely understand your frustration in trying to find Court TV! It can definitely be challenging to keep track of channel lineups, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you.

The most accurate channel lineup is always specific to your Xfinity plan and location, as it can vary. For the most up-to-date information on where to find Court TV (or any other channel) on your specific service, we highly recommend two options:

  1. Sign in to your Xfinity account on our website. Once logged in, you'll see your personalized channel lineup.
  2. Check the on-screen guide directly on your Xfinity TV Box. This guide is always updated with your current channels.

We're here to help! If you're still having trouble, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team directly. We're happy to guide you!

If you read the original post, Channel 1191 SAYS Court TV but is actually a bunch of old 1980s shows and has the ION network logo so the onscreen guide and signing in isn't helpful.

@madmad1

Thanks for the clarity (and actually reading my post lol).

As I mentioned Xfinity Assistance is useless as we got into an endless loop.

I hope that does not happen here!

Let me try this again.

My thanks was to @madmad1 as he actually read my post.

But for completeness I looked at channel guide and the channel guide is wrong.

Xfinity needs to fix the underlying channel associated with 1191 as it does not match guide (nor online)

Also note, per Xfinity Assistant, I reset all my TV boxes and that did not update nor fix.

Are you actually a human or just Xfinity Assistant in disguise?

Every employee on our Forums are real people that you are interacting with. Thanks for checking the guide, and confirming that it still looks wrong. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name and full address, we can further investigate.

To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message chat" icon

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send it

If you ever get an actual helpful response in your private chat, please let us know. I called them and they had no understanding of what I was talking about and kept sending a signal refresh which is useless.

All

Long story short is we will not see CourtTV anytime soon on XFINITY in the Detroit area.

The contract XFINITY has with local station is still in place but unfortunately this local station decided to broadcast ION plus instead of CourtTV.

Xfinity would need to get another contract with different station that is now broadcasting CourtTV here in Detroit.

Note the local station that is now broadcasting CourtTV is actually same parent company so one would think XFINITY could remedy this rather quickly but we will see.

@ande4jo thank you for the information.  It's too bad we'll never know if and how it's resolved because they don't communicate with their customers.

yeah having me go off line with a direct chat and then not even following up here afterwards is proof that they do not communicate well.

It seems YouTube is a good place to go and watch CourtTV though

My apologies for the misunderstanding, @ande4jo. You are correct that the channel provider broadcasting Court TV in your area decided to switch everything over to ION. It sounds like this was an unexpected change, even for the channel provider. Under normal circumstances, they would have run a promotion or campaign letting everyone know "ION is coming to channel 1191," or "You can watch all your favorite ION programming on channel 1191, starting on "X" date." That is the normal pattern I've seen whenever the channels in my area have undergone a changeover like this.

Our content teams are still working with the channel provider to update the guide for everyone, but we will keep this post active until we receive an update on their progress. I really appreciate your efforts to get more clarification about what happened to Court TV. We will let you know as soon as we have more details.

Please update if/when/where Court TV is available in our area.  I don't think it will happen but wanted to to on the record.  I agree with @ande4j0, YouTube looks like the way to go.
