5 digit channels
I am wondering what the 5 digit channels are and if they are available anywhere.
l
I was looking at the channel listings for my area in Seattle and found that it listed 5 digit channels starting with 20100 and ending with 37360. The channels listed were all national channels but no local channels.
What is interesting that the list of channels is from a Comcast website but the channels are not available on my X1 box. I also asked about them at the Comcast office and they had not heard of any 5 digit channels.
So the question being asked is does anyone at Comcast have any idea about these 5 digit channels.

5-digit channels are just a reordered list of your HD channel section.

The 5-digit list is just another link to the same channels found on your current cable service. There are no extra channels found there. Personally; I never bother to use any of them. I am used to the normal location of my channels.
Depending on your service level you paid for, only the channels found there will work if the lower numbered channel is of the channels found on your contract list.

I am wondering what that is suppose to mean. If I understand correctly what you posted they are being listed but will never be available to the viewers.
What is interesting in going through the list of 5 digit channels there are a number of them that are not available under the 4 digit channels. Some of these channels are overflow channels for BTN and SECN. There are also all of the Pac 12 Network channels listed while in my area only the Washington network is available under the 4 digit channels. There are also several networks listed that I have never heard off and are not available with the 4 digit channels.
So it doesn't make a sense to list these 5 digit channels and then basically saying that they will not be avaiable to the viewers.

You seem to be confusing the 4-digit numbers with the 5-digit numbers. There are many channels not otherwise available that say they're in HD. On every channel listing now, there are 5-digit channel numbers. These are not the duplicates in the 4-digit section, which in some areas are the only place where the HD channels are located. For example, in the 5-digit section, all of the premium movie channels are listed in HD (HBO/Cinemax/Showtime).
I have asked Comcast about these 5-digit numbers that are not visible on an X1 box, and they have not commented as to what they are, how they are used, and how this content is accessible.

I am not confused.
On a Comcast channel listing that comes from a Comcast website it lists all of the channels available in my area and they are either 2,3 or 4 digit channels some of which are either SD channels and HD channels.
Then at the very end it has a listing of 5 digit channels all of them in HD. These are national channels but no local channels. Many of these 5 digit channels are duplicates of the listing of the 4 digit channels. However in the 5 digit channel listing there are channels listed that are not shown in the 4 digit channels listing nor are they available in my area. These are all of the Pac12 channels, the overflow channels for the SEC and Big Ten Network plus several other channels that not are listed in the 4 digit listing.
None of the 5 digit channels are available on my X1 box so I asked why are these 5 digit channels beng listed on a official Comcast channel listing and I am told that they are duplicates and I can see that but not all of the 5 channel listed are duplicates.
So I am asking what is the point of the 5 digit channels being listed if they are not available in 5 digits and nobody at Comcast has answered that question. I asked at my local Comcast office and they had never heard of 5 digit channels.
So why is there a listing of channels in 5 digits.

No one from Comcast has chimed in on what these are and how one receives them.

These seem to be the "TVGO" channels which you can get with the xfinity streaming app. I have, for example, the stingray music channels listed in the streaming app and I am able to play them. They do not have numbers in the streaming app but appear with names and "TVGO" where the number should appear.
