Comcast->Yahoo email?
Xfinity website states go to Yahoo mail to access our Comcast.net email. When
attempting to setup the new mailbox on the Yahoo mail app, an error message
states "comcast.net mailboxes are not currently supported". So, cannot access comcast.net
via comcast/xfinity, and cannot access comcast.net email via yahoo mail = cannot
access comcast.net email at all.

Good morning @user_1bbd73, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity forums with your issue, I hope this message finds you well. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your email, but you have come to the right place for assistance. Have you already transitioned your email account to Yahoo? If so, are you able to check the email on the Yahoo website?

Are you still able to check your email on the Xfinity website @user_1bbd73, or did you already go through the transition?

As you discovered, you can't create a Comcast.net email address at Yahoo by going though their regular "create new account" process. You have to wait until Comcast/Xfinity is ready to migrate the account.
You can check the status of your email address by logging in to https://xfinityconnect.email.comcast.net/emailMigration. If the account you logged in with is ready to be migrated, that page will say:
And in that case, there will be a link you can use to migrate the account.
If the ID has already been migrated, the page will say:
I'm not sure what that page will say if your email is NOT ready to be migrated. It might just redirect to the webmail page. It's also possible that Comcast/Xfiity has zapped your Comcast.net account. I don't know what the "emailMigration" page would say in that case. This whole process was poorly implemented from beginning to end. :-(
