Closed Captions on FX channel is off by about a half hour or so!
(I have already contacted FX about this and they told me that is was your responsibility!)
Their emailed message to me:
"Hi there!
Thank you for following up with FXNOW Customer Care! Can you please let us know if you are watching Star Trek: Into the Darkness, through our FX app or website or are you watching through your TV with a feed from your TV provider? If you are watching through your cable box that would be a concern for your TV provider, as we only handle any problems with closed captions on our website or our app.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!
Kindly,
Kristin
ABC Technical Support"
My question/problem that I emailed to them:
I have been watching "Star Trek: Into Darkness on FX and the closed and the CC is from earlier scenes. (Possibly a half hour to an hour.) I noticed this last night as well. ("The Martian") It gets very confusing, especially since I do have some hearing loss and use the CC to catch any spoken dialogue that I didn't catch. The person at customer care below this email. stated that I should contact my TV service provider (Comcast/XFinity), but I don't think that it is their problem. They just send the signal that they get, to my TiVo. And if their signal includes movie with a delayed CC feed, then it needs to be dealt with where the signal originates. That would be your department.
Please fix this for me.

I'm experiencing something similar. For days now closed captioning has at times displayed text that is off in time as stated above, but the current, correct cc is being displayed at the same time. The cc that is wrong only displays while there is a gap in the correct cc because there isn't any current dialogue. It gets as confusing as it sounds.

when that happens next time, press pause button. while the video is paused, do the captions continue to 'scroll'?

As of a few minutes ago (9:45 PM EST, 11/17/2020) the captions seem to be in sync with the audio, but will monitor every so often. (Maybe Comcast or FX finally did something about it!!!)

It has gotten better, but as of right now (11/28/2020 5:33 PM EST), the closed captions are off by a few minutes. (3-5 minutes) It can be very confusing trying to remember what scene goes with the words displayed on the TV.
