Roku Connection Blocked

Like clockwork , I get an email from Comcast notifying me that my monthly "Bill Is Available for Viewing" and at the same time Roku can't find the internet connection. Payment is not late. Third month in a row and it only started when I switched to Roku and UTube TV. Hmmmm.......

There seems to be two separate issues here.

You do realize that monhtly bills have been sent by email for decades now? If you prefer a paper bill, you'll have to log on to your account online and select it from your preferences. Or call 1(800)XFINITY and ask for assistance with this.

All other devices are working fine then? Isn't that a tell tale sign that the problem lies with the Roku and not your internet service in general?

Naw, Comcast is sending a special signal to Comcast owned routers.   The signal will cause the router to blacklist the MAC of the device with the greatest amount of traffic for the previous month.   Once the bill is paid or the device rebooted, the blacklist entry is deleted and the device starts working once again.    Yet another reason to have your own equipment.   😉

FWIW, the poster stated this;

" Payment is not late."

Lol, I didn't say it was.

I was making a little joke implying that as soon as your bill is sent some device is blacklisted on your router until you either pay the bill or reboot; whichever comes first.     We have what?  10 days from billing until payment is due?     The actual number of days doesn't matter, it's something more than one, less than thirty, and I was making an absurd statement for a joke.  🙂

No. It only happens on the first day of the Comcast email.
