I bought my own router because I need to save money

I now have my own router and I can't use my over the air tivo because xfinity has blocked ports.  I can't talk to xfinity and can't get support because I no longer have their modem.  Does anyone know how to unblock my ports, TIVO said I have to talk to Comcasst and aparently that's not a possibility

Talk to support of the manufacturer of your equipment. Your post wasn’t clear if you’re referring to modem or router as you mentioned both

What ports are blocked? What modem and router (or modem/router gateway) device(s) do you have?
