Gateway modem, Epson Printer, Mac

At my old house I had an Epson ET-3750 that worked fine with an Optimum modem and Orbi extenders.  In my new home I have an Xfinity modem, the same Mac computer, and the same type of printer.  I have been able to seemingly connect the printer to my network, but while  my computer sees the printer  it won't let me add it because it won't autoselect a driver (and when I tell it what kind of software it needs it says there is an error and can't add the computer).  My phone and ipad do not see the printer as an airprint printer. I have both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz running on the Gateway.  The Gateway shows the printer as a connected device - but again, my other devices don't see it.
