Xfi randomly pausing devices

I have multiple devices that are paused randomly at different times of the day. I have to go into my xfi and manually unpause them one by one. This happens every day, sometimes four times in a day. Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

Hi @Venger2k, I'm sorry to hear this. Can you provide some additional details?

 

Can you confirm that these devices are not tied to a profile that has downtime schedules set up? 

Are the devices associated to a profile with an Active Time Limit set? If so, is the active time lime set up to automatically pause devices once the limit is met?

There are no schedules set up for any devices. I never pause any devices either. They are just randomly paused by xfinity throughout the day as I stated in the first message. I have reset the modem multiple times reset the gateway multiple times and replaced the modem multiple times. So what's your answer now? I'm very frustrated by this problem. I don't even want the ability to pause or set schedules on my devices!

Do you have a separate router? If so, you will want to enable Bridge Mode in the gateway's admin settings to disable xFi completely.

I have the xfi modem and then a gaming router connected to that. The gaming router is what is being paused all the time.

In that case, you will want to activate Bridge Mode to ensure compatibility. You should not have xFi active if you have a 3rd party router. That can lead to a buffet of issues. I recommend following the steps in this article, Using Bridge Mode On Your Wireless Gateway, to get that done. 

 

In hindsight, I shouldn't have mentioned a buffet so close to lunchtime... oh well!

So instead of solving the problem you suggest disabling my xfinity modem?

Our devices are both modems and routers. To ensure your 3rd party router is being used correctly, the bridge mode will need to be placed to ensure that. 

 

If other devices are being paused randomly as well, we can surely take a deeper look into that.
