Internal credit check vs external? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the difference between a internal and external credit check when signing up for Xfinity mobile ? Xfinity doesn’t use your fico score initially ? Thank you for any information. I signed up and it gave me down payments for phones.

Thanks for posting about the credit check for XFINITY Mobile.

All new and existing Xfinity customers will undergo an internal liability check (ILC) when requesting new Xfinity Mobile services.

  • A customer’s ILC score is used to determine if a customer can sign up for Xfinity Mobile without an external credit check (ECC); otherwise, an ECC is required.
  • If a customer does not qualify for the lines of service that they requested based on the ILC, an external credit check (ECC) is required to proceed with the order.

Let me know if you have additional questions!

I want to know if my credit was pulled or it was a internal check? Does the ILC ask for SS number as well? Thank you.

If an external credit check is required to establish service, you are prompted that a credit check (hard inquiry) is needed to continue.

If you have had XFINITY internet services for 12 months or less, you will be subject to the external credit check.

If you provided your social security number and date of birth, an external credit check was most likely done--you can confirm that with the credit bureau.

So was I given a ILC or external credit check? I did enter my SS information and down payments came back? So I’m assuming it was a internal check?

Hey there! Thanks for posting. You have to post publicly first before you're able to send a private message as per our forum guidelines. I see you have been able to do so now, so I'll work on your credit pull request for ya.

Wish I could. At this time, you'll need to reach out to XFINITY Mobile support for account-specific info.
