xi5-p wireless box setup issue

Trying to setup my Xi5-p wireless boxes. They appear to initialize ok, but freeze on the 'select language screen'. The remote that comes with these boxes does not have a setup button  like my X1 remote, so not sure if it is properly paired. I have 4 of them and this is the first tv I'm trying to get to work. Tried initializing a different box, tried power cycling, tried replacing remote batteries, all with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Rustyben,  thinks for the reply. You stated "since you have a TV cable subscription, you can use a Roku that is currently free to use. then you won't even have the extra set top box charge. that's like refunding the nickles and dimes."

Are you saying I can buy a Roku box to replace my main DVR box from comcast?

if you have at least one set top box in your home the Roku will deliver the same subscription channels provided on that set top box. if you have no X1 equipment in the home you have to set up 'instant TV' subscription with xfinity.

Since this thread is almost 2 years old and the last post is almost 6 months ago and your post didn’t refer to anybody in particular, you may get more assistance if you state exactly what you have going on

I am having similar issues. Had my service installed last week. I have the xi5 in one of my rooms and wired boxes everywhere else. Using Comcast equipment so their gateway and had professional install done. Have the gigabit speed if that matters. All of my wired boxes work fine. Wireless internet works on my iPhones but had issues on other devices and my xi5 won’t work. I had one that worked for a day then stopped working went into welcome screen bootloop and won’t connect to the gateway. I went to the xfinity store and got another one, it worked for 2 days and same thing happened. Called Comcast and they are sending a tech but this is madness. My apartment is 3 bedrooms and the gateway is i t he living room. It’s all one floor so only like 20 feet from any wireless device through a wall each at most. Any ideas? I’m thinking maybe the tech installed something wrong inside the apartment as when i called Comcast they said my signals look great coming in to the apartment. I noticed a splitter that is being used to connect my living room tv and the modem as they are in the same room. Any ideas?

Try rebooting, the main box and the gateway together. On the back of the gateway, is the Moca light on or off?

I have the same setup main box and modem on splitter in living room. MOCA light is on on the modem. Xi5-P box worked for a day and is now in an endless cycle showing the Welcome screen then rebooting. Have tried WPS and hardwired to the modem. Nothing is working. Any ideas?

If you have internet and TV service the splitter is a normal setup. I have the xb6 gateway which is connected to two xi5 wireless boxes. I have had no problems with the wireless boxes staying connected to the gateway.

About all you can do with the xi5 box is cycle the power. If that does'nt work the next step is call xfinity for help and let them troubleshoot whats goin on.

Try rebooting both main box and modem, and then wireless box. If it continues, you’ll probably have to swap it out

If you have multiple then try plugging one in through an ethernet cable then that should allow the wireless ones to not cross signals.
