picture does not fit screen

The image size does not match the screen. The tv attached to the box is hd and connected with hdmi cable. I have adjusted the setting on the x1 box to proper aspect ratio. The zoom is turned off. When on it streaches the sides and distorts the image. I can adjust the screen mode on the tv to zoom and it filles the screen but cuts off the ouside edges. My second tv is new ultra hdtv connected with roku over wifi using streaming live app. same problem.  Using antenna everything works fine using othe apps on roku like netflix and direct tv now. Everything works fine. It only happens with xfinity

They are sd channels I don't have hd through xfinity.  The menu fills the screen fine. It is only while watching channels.

Have you tried with coax instead of HDMI, since your watching in SD anyway. You’ll need to play with your tv settings, the best you can or upgrade to HD

I am not sure what you mean, try coax instead of HDM1. The picture doesn't fit my TV  on HDM1. I don't have anything that says coax, though there is a coax cable connected.

What is really interesting is all the app functions are full screen, including the progress bar. I am very technical and can tell you there are no settings on the app, tv, or media device to fix this. This is 100% being controled by XFINITY for TV viewing as there is no issue on the mobile apps.

your 'reply' is confusing. since you did not quote a post in your reply it is impossible to understand to what you are replying. if you have a problem, please state it so that readers can understand your problem.

I have xfinity HD as well. All the regular HD channels fit my screen but the premium HD channels like HBO or ENCORE dont fit my screen. Its irritating because those are the channels we pay extra for.

HBO/Encore have 1 HD channel(some markets have 2) and the others are in SD. Check your lineup to make sure you’re on the actual HD channel

I started having this issue 3 weeks ago as well. Multiple contacts with support and mo resolution. It just started one day randomly out of nowhere. The non-HD channels are all postage stamp format and even the hd hbo channel is in letterbox format. Still not fullscreen. We have been longtime great customers on auto pay. AMD we have been having nothing but problems since June. And it's not just my house in my area.

does your set top box have an HDMI (not coax) cable connected to the TV? is the TV input set to the same HDMI input name that the HDMI cable is plugged into on the TV?
