X1 paused, keeps jumping to live TV

I have had my X1 box for many years now, and I recently noticed it started doing this strange behavior.  Let me try to explain it.  Let's say I am watching a show on live TV and I need to get up and do something, so I hit the Pause button.  Then when I come back a few minutes later, I hit Play to resume where I left off.  It will then continue playing from that point for a few minutes, but then for no apparent reason it suddenly jumps past all the buffered part and goes right to LIVE.  I can still rewind back to the point where I was watching before, but I have no idea why it jumps forward to LIVE in the first place.  So my question is this - has anyone else noticed this behavior, like it could be a firmware issue, or do you think my hard drive is going bad and I need a new box?

The same has happened to me a few times in the last few weeks.  My cable box was just replaced in March so I don't think it's the box that is the issue.

This keeps happening to us as well, and its incredibly annoying.

Any solutions? Seems like a box software bug.

How annoying that Xfinity considers this question "answered" because someone posted a response commiserating that he or she has the same problem. How does that help anyone? Instead of jumping in with a "this happens to me, too" can we get someone to actually answer the question.

Perhaps you didn't notice that he asked the question if he could possibly need a new box and I answered that I just got a new one and I have the issue.  This is a community forum.  Perhaps you should call Xfinity for your answers.

It’s possible the original poster marked that post as the answer and never made a comment. Instead of griping about the answer you don’t like in someone else’s thread, take the time to make a detailed post of your own issue or provide a quality answer like the one you were looking for. Majority of questions get answers, rants get ignored. This dead thread is now closed.

I am aware this is community community forum. If you had understood my point you would have understood that there was no reason for you to take the issue personally. My frustration is that questions in these forms are rarely answered but more often are filled with people who simply identify with the problem. That is frustrating for those of us who are looking for answers and not just a whining partner. It has nothing to do with you personally but with an overall shortcoming in this system.
