X1 dvr not recording series
My dvr is recording some series but it won’t record any new series that we attempt to. After setting it up it tells us series recording set but in guide and in scheduled recordings they won’t show up unless we record the episodes individually. Why can’t we record series??

Could you give more details on what you’re trying to record?

I had the same problem, spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out what was blocking it. I then went into series priority on the schedule tab. I had 109 different series in there, quite a few that were old. I deleted 10 of them to get under 100 and then I was able to add another series . So I went thru and got rid of all the shows that were not needed anymore and have not had any issues.

I had 64 old ones. All (except the current ones) have been deleted.
Waiting to see the results. But the "100 recordings" user said this fixed his problem.
Guess I would like another confirmation from him/her that in fact it has stayed "fixed".

did you find a solution. I have this issue and comcast does not seem to have and answer. Maybe time to join the "joey" crowd.

look at your series priority settings for the series. is it one channel? or 'HD preferred'? did you set the recording from a search or from the guide?

you will need to find the 'duplicate' priority list entry that is overriding what you are doing. if you have an apple device use the xfinity TV remote app and the DVR manager tab, priority list to quickly review and locate the duplicate. if no duplicate delete the entry so there is no recording. find the next episode in the guide (not search) and set series recording and the options you desire.

the answer to both of your questions is: it makes no difference it will not series record. I have tried everything that seems to have worked for others on this forum. I had comcast tech here the other day for 4 hours we changed dvr box and 2 other non-dvr boxes.

I appreciate your replies and help, but it seems to me that that this should not be my problem to solve and clean up. Comcast has a problem and they should provide it to the customer if they expect to continue collecting money for their services. From my review of this forum the problem has been around for 2 years or more and comcast has done nothing to solve it. My problem just started about 3 months ago and many calls with comcast result in lets reset the dvr I am sending a signal now yada yada yada.
thanks for your help, I will wait and see if comcast comes up with a solution for a bit longer if not its to DISH and their Joeys..

the forum has many customers like me to help you. there is no 'system' problem (if there was you would see thousands of issues reported a day). If you don't wish to find the problem, ok, I get it. the DVR is a device and unless the recorded series is set to your wishes it won't record your issues. Series recordings have a globally assigned series registration number (you can see the number on imbd.com). the Scheduler allows either one channel as an option when recording is set from the guide's episode, or on any/all channels when set from the search system (example: voice search "elementary". there are many networks that carry syndication of the older seasons even while the series is adding new broadcast episodes on major networks like ABC, NBC, etc. If you find issues that you wish to have help to resolve, please feel free to post and the knowledgeable customers will respond.
