X1 box

I visited a store to see the latest X1 box for my area.  They told me it is XG2V2-P but wouldn't let me take photos of the front and back.  Does this box include a DVR or is it only cloud?  Does it show a clock or channel display?  Can I buy a third party model if I don't like this box?  I am currently non X1 and considering switching.  Is there somewhere I can find manufacturers specs for this and information about how Comcast's hardware may differ?  They seemed very unwilling to tell me anything technical in the store.  I went there because Comcast phone customer service had a script to say I would receive "the latest model."

not sure why they would not want to not let you take images. it helps in determining how your wiring may have to be adjusted or adapters (like audio HDMI splitter to coaxial audio or RCA or optical link.  During my most recent visit to the xfinity store they told me in home equipment is now optional (re: DVR) and that new X1 customers ony use the cloud DVR. The various news sites seem to be saying that the future is IPTV not using the current method of cable channel transportation.  The legacy system (I had it) had option to expand recording space using an eSATA drive that is not possible to use on the X1 system. the only way to get more room to store recordings currently is to have more than one DVR. There is a notice about the cloud DVR changing in March to have 6 tuners for cloud recordings no matter how many DVRs are in the home. I have 4 DVRs and 4*6 = 24 current cloud tuners available will change to 6 for me. The latest model is a 4k DVR with aim anywhere remote and Bluetooth headset (must have its own amp/volume control) capability.  Any technical problems in converting can be asked and answered here.
