X1 Bug- Skip Fwd/Back does not work when OnDemand shows list wrong duration/end time

As of last ? number weeks, - the Skip Fwd/Back & Resume functions do not work properly when viewing latter part of many OnDemand shows that list incorrect total/end time info. The erroneous total/end time info is not new, but now it seems to corrupt functionality of Skip & Resume, as follows:, - when playback is past the false end time, the SkipFwd will always REVERSE to this false end time. Could be seconds up to many minutes back. SkipBack does same + back further whatever amount of secs/mins set for SkipBack. here, we use 30/15secs so 15 more back. - when playback is just before the false end point, SkipFwd will move ahead only to lesser of false end or config’d SkipFwd time. Will not ever go further than false end, always returns to there too. - when you stop playback before done & after false end time, Resume menu option does not return you to where left off, instead restarts at false end time. All adding up to pretty disruptive results. First, must realize it happened, then where it dropped you to as some arbitrary spot likely behind where just were by unknown amount of time and no way to undo or jump back or progress bar or other help to find eay back other than FF & watch within unknown total time and just be sure to not hot Skip again or it starts all over again. Now explain to someone else, just hope it isn’t a show that has FF disabled just then. Bad & wrong & should be fixed promptly IMHO, tho no way to get this to right folks at CC typically. Hence grrr here & thx.

The issue is that those shows have inserted commercials, not commercials that are part of the original recording. It can't keep track of the proper time because of that. Even the older Legacy/iGuide has issues when you get near the end like that.

Understand the probable root cause, concur with your thought there, But, it is duty of playback system to provide functional controls & since it is also likely that this is where variable insertion of ads etc is handled, hence also CC, all the mr reason the system should be expected to work by a proper playback duration/end time. Or at minimum, CC’s logic for skip should not use end point since so often wrong. Thanks for reply tho. Just wish CC had a proper avenue to submit defect reports.
