X1 4K box cuts off every show

Every show gets cut off, with a option to Delete about 30 seconds before the show it over.

There is an option on the schedule to start a show 1 or 2 minutes early, but no option to record a minute later (first DVR I have ever seen without this option).  How do you get the DVR (Arris) to record the whole show?  

I know it is the DVR, because the onscreen clock from the show itself cuts off at :59, and the next show on the same channel starts at :59, then plays for about 30 seconds before the clock switches to :00
