Won't Turn On
I replaced my defective DVR receiver 2 days ago with the new DVR Receiver and after being off over night the receiver will not turn on in the morning. All I get is 3 dots in the center of the screen. I have to unplug it to make it work. What is going on here??? Do I need to get another one?

My recordings were not showing up in the saved recordings.

Check your cable connections. There should be a place in the device settings where you can check the signal levels.
Also, try doing a 'troubleshoot' and 'system refresh' from your xfinity account login or the xfinity account app on your phone. That will reload and restart the box and might clear up some quirks.

Cable connections are fine. Signal is fine. I think it might be defective. I'll have to call xfinity and see what they say.

They'll probably do the reset/refresh for you first if you haven't already.

With the X1 system your recordings are duplicated in the cloud - at least for the more limited time/number allowed there, and your schedule is saved there so they are saved across hardware swaps and you can access them from the phone/tablet apps and the streaming site.

Not quite, only the last 60 hours of recordings made are accessible after a swap. The guide, settings etc are all cloud based
