Voice out of sync (VOOS)

Started having same problem. Tried HDMI unplug etc. Worked only for several minutes. Tried a new cable also a different HDMI outlet. Also worked briefly. Had the company ping my unit and everything aok. Tried reboot everything, no change. A new cable lasted the longest (hours).

if swapping the set top box did not fix it then the TV (called a sink) that is responsible to have an adjustment to  do lip-sync appears to have a problem. have you tried power unplug for 2-3 minutes for your TV?

Re: Voice out of sync (VOOS)

If it is always out of sync by the same amount, you may be able to fix it with an adjustment in the TV settings.   Mine will frequently get out of sync if I use native TV apps, then switch back to the X1.   I've found that switching the TV to some other HDMI input momentarily, then back will fix it.

Just guessing, I think the X1's habit of always maintaining an output HDMI signal causes the TV to have something in its buffers when you go back to that input from an app without the clean break you get from actually switching connections.

So replacing the HDMI cable worked but did not last, finally requested a new box top set. Comcast sent a tech out and he replaced the cable with added digital audio connection and it's been working fine. Says almost always the problem is the HDMI.
