Tv switches to screen saver while watching

While watching a movie on X1 box, every 18 minutes the screen goes black and then switches to an advertising screen for xfinity. Then I have to turn tv on and it starts a different channel. I then have to go find the channel I was watching and find the right place and start again! This happens every 18 minutes. How do I solve this?

using your voice remote 'device settings' --> screen saver --> screen saver starts after: change to maximum (5 hours). fixed?

Re: Tv switches to screen saver while watching

Our X1 box also switches to the screen saver, but it's every day between the hours of 1 & 2 pm.  I did go into setting and turned off everything I could turn off.  I mean EVERYTHING and it is still happening.

You can’t turn off the screensaver but adjust the amount of time it’s on. Are you certain it’s the X1 screensaver and not your tv screensaver if it has one?

Re: Tv switches to screen saver while watching

It's not our TV. We never had this issue before. Not until we had the X1 box installed a few weeks ago.
This should be a choice of the customer to use or not use, not Xfinity.
